Good day to you all....

So we stayed high obviously :(

Definitely another bounce...probably dipped a little into green while I was at work yesterday.

Should i test anymore or give us a bit of a break till pmps...as I'm sure since I work tomorrow he will want to keep me up tonight...le sigh

He seems very aggressive this morning. Hangry for sure...giving him the last of his split up breakfast now and he is eating like he hasnt eaten for days. Is this normal? He hasnt been this aggressive for awhile even when his numbers were a bit higher...this is like when we were first starting out. Not sure if I should be concerned. He isnt meowing like in pain in fact he is pouncing on our civvie really making her mad today...so playful but aggressive....

Also been hopping on our little sofa laying on it waiting for me to give treats (it's where i test him) like he is willing to be poked just for a treat today just dont get it?

An interesting day for me it seems LOL

I would increase tomorrow morning. Bouncing will likely continue for awhile. Like Bhooma said, it’s part of what happens until cats get used to having normal bg. If you wait too long to increase the insulin requirement will keep going up due to glucose toxicity.

Ok...well at least if I increase tomorrow morning we can see if he pulls any antics tonight before I increase. Plus he will have a ndw tomorrow while I'm at work so no real worry....

NDW is seen in cycles 2 and 3 of the increase. When do you have to work tomorrow - which tests can you get in the AM cycle?

Wondering if you want to increase tonight since you can monitor. Let's see where his PMPS is.

Work 1 to 5pm...have to leave about an hour early...no car tomorrow walking the mile.

Latest test I can get is +5...maybe a +5.25 but then wont have time to decide what food to leave out.

@tiffmaxee

So I'm going through the food list and trying to find some foods 15% to 20%...and about 10% carbs.

I have a can that is on list saying its 9%...but when I do the calculation it comes up to 4.8%

I could understand a percent or two discrepancy but why such a large difference?

Was the food changed since the list is my calculation wrong? I'm using the correct formula...

He hasnt been eating this one he prefers the one that is 2 on the food list but when I do calculation it's a 1....

The food list is old. There’s a much more recent list on tanyascrf.org but not every food has the carbs. Enough do though. It’s a list for kidney disease so the list is ordered based upon the phosphorus content and cumbersome to go through. She does have a link to diabetes and it has low carb foods.

Ok I'm standing in pet store...have a can of ff gravy lovers...list says 20% I use formula for calculating and it says 2.6:eek:

I even downloaded a carb calculator for this purpose from vet site to be sure...something isnt right

You will know before you leave for work if higher carbs are needed while you are gone.
I know just hate having to leave him.

This is the first job job I've had in awhile. Watched nieces and nephews and grandkids some and was gone during day for that...ran errands fornhouse and hubby as he is in business for himself...but generally whenever we've had anything going on like blockages I was able to be home all the time.

I really appreciate the hand holding! I know I can be a bit much. I am a very logical person and fd seems to not always be logical. It makes things like carb content and figuring out frustrating for me when it probably isnt as difficult as I think. So just love to you and all the others that are helping me <3

Btw I got some ff gravy that according to online numbers I found are 15%...so I now have some of that to go with my HC.

You are doing great. FD makes sense much of the time but often doesn’t. With humans if you eat 5he same the insulin tends to not change a lot and likewise with dogs I have been told. Cats are so different but they are the ones that have the ability to go into remission. I’m glad you were able to get ff with gravy. That will help. :bighug:

I feed Ruby Weruva Cats in the Kitchen 1 if by Land, 2 if by Sea and Mack Jack and Sam pouches for HC. Big drawback is that they are fish, but she loves them and she licks her bowl clean every time. They are also both lowish in phosphorus so good for her kidneys. They have them at Petco and even my local indie pet shops carry them.

Thankyou I've heard a lot about the weruva...I def look into that

Wait till you get addicted to green and start finding blues upsetting! :)
I will admit I am getting more used to them not feeling so scared and feel a little sad when I see yellow and downright upset when I see pink LOL

I get more nervous when the blues go low like 115 and lower...thats when I worry...mid to higher blues I get happy about
