Good morning,
Here's yesterday's details:
https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/thr...-320-5-218-pmps-275-1-5-345-2-5-354-6.255955/

This morning we're almost in the red zone and it's a bit unnerving. Honestly, am wondering if bounce is lasting too long?

Please don't lose patience with me; it's just hard to see these high numbers and we're only starting third cycle of 7.5.

Not for the faint of heart, these SRT acrokitties. @Wendy&Neko

Just tell me if I should continue to be chill. Keep the dose?

@FrostD @Bandit's Mom

It's possible he will take the full 6 cycles to clear the bounce. Or he could clear it today. You want to see where he lands after he clears the bounce. Give him 5 days on the dose before contemplating a failed reduction.

Just as you think you should increase, he could surprise you by earning another reduction - like he has done before.

I know it's hard to see those high numbers but there's no choice but to wait for the bounce to clear.

Thank you, Bhooma! Sometimes, just hearing this (for the 100000th time) is a snap to attention. :) Stay frosty, Jodey

I wouldn't wait 5 days on this dose before re-evaluating it, but I would wait a full six cycles. The theory is that you wait the length of time it takes them to break a bounce, and if you don't see green by then, they've failed the reduction. The greens on the 21st it took six cycles to clear the bounce. So if you don't see good numbers by tomorrow morning, you can increase.

Ok, that sounds reasonable. Thank you.

I think we are going the route of the failed reduction. He's @ +3 311. But I'll wait and see.

Hopefully he keeps sliding down. Mr Kitty spent like a year in those numbers don't worry!

All data is good data, even if it was a failed reduction I still think it was the right call - because when they come down, you just never know. Let him clear the bounce, I don't quite think he has yet.

Does Eddie have any issues with constipation?

Not trying to throw anything else into the mix for your brain to dwell on ;) but thought it worth asking.

Amongst his other acro symptoms, Tubby had ongoing problems with constipation/obstipation. I noticed that his numbers would hang in the higher range when he was “backed up” and then drop like a rock after he took a big BM. Over time the IM specialists decided that these issues (reduced peristalsis?) might be a form of “neuropathy” of the gut. It was one more consideration in addition to the SRT, etc. when monitoring his BG and dosing. These guys are always complex, aren’t they? Gotta love ‘em for the troupers that they are.

Well, now that is really interesting. For awhile, Eddie was having issues with diarrhea (but months ago). I've noticed smaller deposits in the kitty box (you know they all have places they claim as their own) from Eddie. Maybe there's something to that...What did you do when he was "backed up"? I'm going to watch this "end" of things more closely.

Darn!

If it were me I'd grab one midcycle test tonight, maybe a +4 to be sure. If he isn't heading towards green I'd take him back to 8U. If you get a blue AMPS though I'd be inclined to hold the 7.5U.

See if the increase threat works ;)

Roger that, thank you.

If he were my cat, I would, barring anything surprising in the morning.

Although there is the whole "flat yellow means busy cycle to follow", so if that holds true plus an increase in the morning, he may make things interesting

Am going with 8u. Guess he decided he wasn't ready.
