Good morning
So thankful for another great day yesterday. More enthusiastic syringe feeding, bites of food from a bowl, a nice bm, and last night he jumped on the bed and slept on my pillow.
He has been sneezing. I'm going to look into that today.
Thanks for all the support, helpful suggestions, and prayers.
Have a blessed day.

Sneezing could be herpes. Tiffany git it when she first started treatment for lymphoma. It surfaces when ill. Often is accompanied with runny eyes. They used to say to give lysine fir it but most recently it’s controversial as to whether it does anything. I don’t think it can hurt. See what you can find out in case I am wrong.

So glad he’s recovering more each day. :bighug:

Thanks very much.
His nose is also running today.
Lysine is one of the few no-no supplements for fip, it interferes with the absorption of the treatment.
What did they do for Tiffany's herpes?
Tansi is on Veraflox but that is an antibiotic and herpes is a virus I think?
Enjoy your day ❤

Ask your vet about Famciclovir, an anti-viral. Bama has been prescribed this medication when he has sneezing and watery eyes that his vet has diagnosed as herpes. Always seems to clear him up in about 5 to 6 days. His sneezes are multiple, fierce wet ones and for some reason, usually only his right eye continues to run clear fluid. He seems to come down with this around this time of year and it usually recurs again before winter is out. Occasionally he gets it in summer.

Tiffany’s herpes went away on its own. The same happened with Chai and Mocha when I git them as kittens. I started fostering and the minute they were here they started with sneezing and runny eyes. It went away in a week. I was dealing with the rescue vet who put them on an antibiotic but my vet would only treat if it led to a secondary infection.

That is actually very wise of your vet, Elise.
