Bama was ready to start his Monday @ PM+9 which technically was Monday but too early for the peoples in the household. A pee and a poop, snacks eaten overnight, and rest for Mama Bean. Maybe the bounce is finally breaking. He ate his AMPS meal [1.5 oz. FF + 1 or 2t of kibble] and drank his after breakfast warm drink. Trying to remember to treat his ears with H2O2 and wipe a little under his chin to ward off acne. Expect to test @ +2 to get direction for this cycle.

Good monday morning, Gina and Bama!

Is chin ache a diabetes related thing? Gus has been getting a dump every now and then,!which is new… in fact, I just noticed his second one this morning with chin scritches at test time. And you’re using peroxide to help with that?

Bama first had feline acne several years before his diabetes dx. Some theories are that eating/drinking from plastic bowls may be a contributing factor. I never really discovered the cause. I did do away with plastic in favor of stainless steel which I frequently wash. The peroxide doesn't treat acne so much as help prevent it, IMO. Treatment for Bama was antibiotics, washing with Hibiclens or shampoo provided by the vet, and lots of time. He started out with a dirty look to his chin--dirty chin syndrome which progressed to large, painful bumps. This was probably 10 to 12 years ago. Then 2 or 3 years ago, he got it again with lots of little black specks [blackheads] but few or no bumps. Seemed to arrive in the spring and with treatment go away by winter. After it went away, I started treating by keeping his chin clean with H2O2 once or twice a day. He also tends to either dip his chin into his water or it dribbles down on his chin when he drinks because his chin is always wet after a drink.

Hmm. Wonder what it could be. He’s always eaten off ceramic saucers… our house no longer has small ‘human’ saucers - they’re the cats now.. lol. They are small bumps but the first one was puss filled at one point when I was checking on it.. it was darker at one point but I thought that could have been dried blood. I cleaned it up with a wet cotton round.

Gus always has a water beard when he’s done drinks, then he usually shakes it off on me …

Do the ceramic saucers have any cracks where bacteria could hide?
