Hi!

So have a conundrum/question about the increase due for tomorrow.

I know we are due for an increase and by today's numbers (just cause he wants to be a snot and not follow day 3 of increase like last time and run higher) it should be a 0.5...those make me nervous first of all. I work tuesday which is day 2 of increase generally the day he seems to be dropping more. I dont work till afternoon so can be with him up to about +5 and home by 6pm right before PMPS

Now whether I do a .25 or 0.5 isnt the biggest issue.

I have to 'play nice' with current vet to get copy of records...his appt for fructosamine (pointless test I know) is tomorrow at 940am(day one of increase) do I hold the dose to make it through appt increase evening dose? Increase Tues? Or just do it to hell with them?

I have an appt this coming up saturday (a week from yesterday) with new clinic. Did a quick phone interview with them...like them she is excited I home test already (does think I need an alphatrak...lol). I told her I was following TR and explained I had been increasing his insulin every three days with guidance from this group. She was very impressed and cant wait to sit down and talk with me! She didnt seem thrilled about me doing increases without vet supervision but when I explained his numbers and that they have improved since I started...she totally 'got it' light bulb moment maybe and didnt fuss at me at all. In fact wants me to write down web address of this board to share with others!

You might want to put your kitty's name on the subject line. ;)

I'd increase by 0.25 units at your convenience, not your vets. Since he's not seeing anything lower than mid yellows, I wouldn't worry about working if you can get a later test that AM. Do you have an autofeeder for him? Always handy if you find he's dropping before you go.

By law, I think you have the right for your pet's records. You paid for them. But that new vet does sound promising!

Jist fixed title...I always forget that sorry!

Yes we have an autofeeder...he is getting better at recognizing sound it makes when opens. Our civvie Madison learned it real fast so I've had to do a little training for him so he realized it. Hes good at pushing her out of way once he realizes its his. (She does not need extra snacks LOL)

I've found he tends to run a little higher if he doesnt get small snacks...he seems to have food anxiety.

I will increase by .25 in the morning then!

I'm glad it sounds like you have a new, interested vet. So important. Please, tell me what you first name is. I hate to address you as Little Man's Mom.

The 10 days would start with tonight but only if he goes under 200. I didn’t see any update? What’s the bg?

I tend to be a nervous nelly... but I bet you already knew that.

Thankyou for sticking with me tonight! I know we arent in danger zone but to me it feels like it.

I assume once I see a rise we should be good for rest of night?
