What????? She seems old to be diagnosed with that. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I just confirmed my comment above. It’s usually identified at 2 years. Positive thought and prayers your way that you get a real diagnosis and treatment plan for a full recovery.

From what I understand it is uncommon at his age, but not out of the question. I will know more at the end of the day. I am in touch with a group called fip warriors. There are some...unconventional treatments that have been very successful.
I will keep updating.

Okay. That is no longer a death sentence. I have a friend who has a cat that has recovered from FIP. There is a Facebook group called FIP Warriors 5.0. Let me get the name of the drug treatment. Lots of vets don’t even know about it.

I know someone who rescued a two year old and he got Fip. She used a medication fro China I believe and her younger kitten to not get it. Her cats are fine. Let me know if you want me to see if it’s ok to give you her email.

Thank you so much
I have got the treatment.
Unbelievably it has an 80 percent cure rate. It is not yet approved so vets cant dispense or mention it.
I am bringing him home shortly
The vet says she us 75 percent sure its fips.
A test to confirm takes 5 to 10 business days, he could be gone by then
On the other hand, if he responds to the treatment, we know in a few days.
I am very greatful to fip warriors for helping us.

It sounds like what she used. I remember the 84 days. After a break I think she needed extra time on the medication but it definitely worked.I just read Melissa’s link. That’s definitely it!

Thank god the vet told me hush hush to join fb warriors. I am all set up with the treatment already and just waiting to take him home. Thank you for all the resources you sent, I am going to read them all.
So glad to have some information to share. I had a sweet kitty, Sophie, die of FIP in 2005 and I am ecstatic that there is an effective treatment now. ❤️❤️

Fingers and paws crossed. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Tansi is home.
I am skipping insulin tonight because he is getting his first gs shot shortly and it is very painful and we are all stressed out beyond. He is at 8.5 now which is one hour past pmps.
What do you think about amps?
Im really not sure at all. He is still not eating.

Yes. I read about the pain. I believe the person I know used the pills. Her vet in New York helped her. I would not worry about keeping Tansi tightly regulated until you see how he reacts to the shots. Maybe give a reduced dose that keeps him under 200? If as painful as it sounds it might be hard to test much as he might think he’s getting another shot. It’s given daily? You might want to give it in the same room every time so he knows he’s safe from it everywhere else. Just a thought. You know him best. What do you think?

I missed what tiffmaxee is referring to in #5. I am getting the thought tansi has fip. I don't see a post that states that, just a lot of reference to it.
Sorry about that
Yes, the vet was 75 percent sure it is fip. It was never pancreatitis.
He is very unwell unfortunately.
But miraculously due to a group called FIP warriors, I was able to get the feline equivalent of remdisiver within hours. It cures 80 percent of cases. But illegal as it is not approved by fda etc. Tansi has had one dose already, and another tonite.
We have high hopes. ❤

Good you had a doctor willing to use it. My vets probably would not. I had to go off market for Levemir and in 2016 lantus.

You give this med twice a day?

No it's once a day.
I didn't get it from a vet. You can get it online. There is a group that is similar to this one called FIP warriors that helps with dosing etc. It is miraculous, like this one.

I just spent some time today with my friend whose cat received the treatment. Hos name is Merlin and he is like a different cat. He acts like a kitten now racing all over the house and playing with the other cats. The vets at the practice all know him and are amazed because they knew how sick he was. He was in bad shape. Within about 10 days Merlin was starting to get noticeably better. I’ve got you and Tansi in my thoughts and prayers!

The vets can’t actually give it to you or prescribe it. That would be illegal. They can say to you, for example, “check out this Facebook group… they have information that can help you.”

It is so good to hear the success stories

This is all interesting. Is Tansi the first here being treated? Did you need a script for the med?
You have to order it online. But the group I found that the vet recommended i look into, set me up with everything I needed the same day. To get us thru until i get the medication and syringes delivered. You get your own helper in your own city and then a group of helpers get together and help with dosing etc
So it's all peer reviewed just like here.
