I am reducing Phoenix's insulin again this evening from 7.5 to 6.5. This is just weird but I love it. Phoenix's AMPS this morning was 62.

I may be wrong in reducing a whole unit but if I didn't, I believe that I would be up all night again trying to keep his BG up.

Wow! He seems to be on a mission! I know it is scary, but unless you are propping him up with HC/honey, do you want to wait and see if he actually earns the reduction? I'd hate to see him lose momentum.
Also, reductions in whole units might just be too much - at these levels, you want to reduce by 0.5U and below 5U, by 0.25U.

Of course, he could prove me wrong by continuing to zip down the dosing ladder!

You were correct, Phoenix's BG went up to 414 last night. His AMPS this morning was 309.

I increased his insulin to 7 units this morning. I am sorry for not reading the guidelines last night before reducing his insulin. I was very tired at his PMPS last night. I had been out with my chainsaw chopping down trees all day. When I saw his PMPS was 67, I knew I wouldn't be able to wake up to check his BG no matter how much coffee I drank.
That is why I reduced his insulin. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Thank you for your help Bhooma, I really appreciate it. I hope you had a great day.
