Hi Christina I did a search about sore ears and remembered I saw a few of the members used this and said
use pure coconut oil, I have copied this from one of the members posts
just make sure the only ingredient is coconut oil (mine is solid at room temp and I would take an itty bitty dab and rub on his ears, just make sure its pure coconut oil

Ok I will give it a try thanks. One question though. Is it ok for his brother Spook to injest it? He is constantly bathing Panzer & licking his ears. I make him stop when I see him start to do it but I can't watch them all the time Lol

I also give Butters a little bit of coconut oil regularly. Bonus: she LOVES the taste of it and will lick it right off my finger. I cook with it and she shows up as soon as she smells it, desperately hoping that I might drop some onto the floor.


Cindy did great through the night as well. No vomitting and ate well. I incorporated the organic coconut oil yesterday morning as the vet suggested

It's funny how much these cats love that coconut oil! Luci does the same thing - I like to put it on my feet and she comes running so she can have a bit...she does enjoy that little serving of coconut oil!

This is a bit late for answering, but I have one cat that gets a bit of coconut oil as a treat at least twice a day. He loves it but I don't think it has any effect on his poop.

I put a dab on Furball's ears and don't worry if she washes it off. I've also let her lick some up sometimes. I think it's okay in moderation.

I see no harm in coconut oil for ingestion. Just make sure it's a food grade oil, not one of those sold in the bathoil section. Pure food grade coconut oil is in my opinion very healthy. Luci has a lovely shiny coat - some might say it's due to her ingesting coconut oil...she loves it!
