11/14 Max2 ~ AMPS=59, +1=69, +3=54, +6=90, PMPS=225, +2=128, +3=64

He earns a reduction when he drops below 50 - and I suspect he is headed there sooner or later. Keep him as long as you can on this dose with the occasional intervention with higher carbs.
If he dips below 50 despite that or if you find you a propping him up with carbs, it's time for a reduction.

Looks like he may need some MC before onset?

Max has decided he doesn't care for the 14% variety that I have, so he is eating a little 16% now. I should have fed him at +2 rather than +3. Argh. I do feel like I'm needing to feed him to keep his numbers up, but will keep going with it for now.

How would I test that? Should I not feed him MC or HC early in a cycle and see if he goes below 50?

The more time spent in green the better. I would feed mc if needed to keep him there. I’d only feed hc if he drops under 50. He’s looking so good.

Really big bounce for Max. Is there something I could have done differently in previous cycle that would have prevented it or lessened the bounce?

I'm adding that his PM +2 was about a hundred point drop from his pre-shot number. What should I feed him to get him safely through tonight? I need sleep in the worst way, but can be up if needed.

No. That's quite a drop. Feed some 14%.

I think you might want to let him drop below 50 and earn a reduction in the AM cycle.
That sounds like a plan. So, if his pre-shot number is below 50, automatic .25 reduction and maybe feed and wait to shoot. Anything above 50, give normal dose, let him eat his normal breakfast, then when he starts to drop, let him go a little below 50 so he earns his .25 reduction beginning his PM cycle. At the point he goes below 50, feed MC or HC to get him up, but hopefully preventing bounce. Does that all seem right?

No, you do not shoot a number below 50. Yes, a preshot below 50 is a reduction but you stall without feeding and post here for help.

Yes. Feed LC and if he drops below 50, he earns a reduction. You feed higher carbs for numbers below 50. Depends on when that drop comes. Earlier in the cycle, you may need HC to bring him up over 50, later in the cycle, MC and towards the end of the cycle even LC might just be enough. It all depends on when the low occurs and how carb-sensitive the cat is. In this, like everything else, ECID. Know thy cat! :-)

Thanks so much! Max & I really appreciate your time & attention.

I re-read the stickies almost daily. When I read it, I briefly get it, but then it all just seems familiar and not something I really know. Cognitive issues are very frustrating. It's almost harder because I once knew this stuff. Now I second guess every instinct. I'm so scared I will do something wrong. I'm so grateful for everyone here.

Don't worry about it. Just post whenever in doubt and one of us will help you! :bighug:
