why my cat has a patch of skin devoid of hair

two days after my cat Marty started to have injection of insulin twice a day after being diagosised for diabete, I found a patch of skin devoid of hair, and the skin is normal white. I called the vet, she did not think it is serious. I would be grateful if you could share your thought about the issue. many thanks.

Where is the bald patch? Do you inject their?
Have you seen Marty scratching the are?
Have you changed diet (possible food allergy)?
 
the bald patch is on his back slightly left side, about 2 inch away from injection area. I have not seen Marty scratching the area, and he only grooms himself occationally. And I have not changed diet, still the same food that he loves. by the way, the vet gave him injection shot for treating urine track infection when week ago.
 
Have you used any topical (spot on) flea/tick treatments lately? Some can cause fur loss at the site where they’re administered.
 
I would take a photo of the area with a scale (ruler) in the photo so that you can tell if it is changing with time. If it does nor get larger I would not be concerned. ALso observe if he is scratching it since it doesn't appears to be in an area he can lick.

Thanks, I will do so. I do feel the bald patch is getting a little bigger. I am very warried. If it is gettig bigger significantly I will bring him to the vet, my concern is that the vet may have no clue and will do many stressful tests. He had blood tests two weeks ago for the diagnosis, was shaved two patches around his neck and very stressed.
 
If you can post the picture in here, that would be helpful also. A lot of things can cause bald patches in cats; some have very distinct features though.

nothing new in my house but the extension building work in my next door neighour (semi detached) has been carring on for more than 10 weeks with a lot loud noice most time. I guess he has been stressed, is it the cause of the hair loss?
 
i have not seen him scrathing or grooming himself much, and he hardly grooming himself, not routinely for sometime now, so his fur does not look fresh so i woud be delighted if he grooms himself.
 
FCC developed a very sparse patch of fur for a little bit that I think was related to the diabetes. Once we started insulin it slowly grew back in. Is it possible the patch has been there awhile?

I remember my vet told me that often bald patches are caused by environmental or seasonal allergies.

agree, Marty's fur/hair is thin at the moment and he used to have very beautiful shinning rich fur. We visited the vet, and was told the bald patch was more likely caused by stress, so recommended Feliway remendy for reducing his stress.
