Skipped the pm shot last night and he hasnt quite wanted to eat his DR E again ( but will happilyeat churu and pure bites)
Hes back on cerenia and i am preparing that he has developed another food aversion and trying to find new food to try
 
Come on Lando. When nauseous they often will eat treats and dry but not their food. As you are finding you can’t stop meds for nausea too fast. Hoping it’s just nausea and not a food aversion.
 
I am DEFINITELY learning that lesson! Yes i hope he goes back to a healthy meal appetite one or two cerenia in! elise, i put the cerenia halves in the gel caps a few weeks ago, now i read once you take the medication from the blister pack it looses effectiveness in a day or two! Should i call my vet for more cerenia to replace this batch?

Not necessarily although it will give you a stash in case you need more. The pills are not the right dose for most cats as technically they are for dogs so everyone breaks them up. For the future once opened wrap them in foil and keep out of the light. If they help they are still potent enough. I know people who bought the largest one to save money and they worked just fine.
 
If you put the small pieces of Cerenia in a gelcap and then keep the gelcaps in a pill bottle (or similar) away from the light it should be fine. My vet said it is the moisture that can make them dissolve / get gummy. This will protect them from moisture and light. Since you give it daily it really isn't a concern as you won't have the pills sitting around long enough to worry about. This applies to Clavamox as well -- as far as moisture being what spoils them.
