11/9 jade AMPS 308 PMPS 408

Do you want to follow TR? That way you needn't reduce if she drops below 90 today. Keep her at a dose where she sees good numbers.

You can also increase faster with TR.[/QUOTE
For some reason TR feels aggressive for me with my work schedule being so unpredictable. I know people manage it, I feel like it would put me on pins and needles more than I already am ( if that’s possible). But, I’m going to look into further. I have a really hard time understanding all of this for some reason and it’s embarrassing. I think maybe I should have paid more attention in school!

FD is confusing. Most vets have no clue how to manage it. :bighug:
Well, I spoke to mine yesterday and she said that we can curve again next week and increase to 2 units if she’s still in the reds AND no need to test her AT ALL until the curve. So…..
I agree with the curve. But, no testing? Not even before insulin? Wha? And, I think the advice here will be to try 1.5 before doubling to 2 ( I could be wrong).

With SLGS, increases are usually by 0.25U. Even in TR, increases are by 0.25U once you start seeing nadirs below 300.
OMG....I just noticed that I said AMPS is 108 instead of 308!!
I wondered why you threw out 90 as a number she may hit. I had not had my coffee yet.:coffee:

Vets give that kind of advice and when cats crash we are there to pick up the pieces hopefully. I originally didn’t test at home. My vet had me coming to his office twice a week for that reason. He was all for testing but I wasn’t. Very rare that seems. That led to 3 weeks without insulin as his low at the office had him thinking remission. When I returned to insulin and brought in my monitor my vet had me test and a testaholic was created.

Testaholic. LOL. Same here! The vet I took her to 31/2 years ago also said testing wasn't necessary. My vet now seems like she doesn't believe that you can intervene and prevent hypoglycemia. She says that by the time shes hypo, she needs to be hospitalized. Baffling, really.
