11/7 jade amps 405+2.5=440 PMPS 330+2=273

I hope Jade slides down today.
@Wendy&Neko So, I just tested her for her 2.5 number and the same thing that happened last night for her PMPs # happened. I got 5 different #'s with 5 different test strips. All AphaTrak2. I've now ordered an entire new AlphaTrak2 meter, which should here tomorrow. Just now when I tested, her right ear came to almost 500 and I knew that shouldn't be right so I retested her left ear and came up with 387 then tested both again and they were 440,402 and then 440 again. So, I'm going with 440 as her #. But, what could cause this?? Any ideas? Her poor over-poked are getting sore, i can tell. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Yikes, that was an expensive test! Another reason for a back up human meter.

Meters in the US can vary up to 20%. The 440, 402, 440 were practically the same number. 500 is within 20% of 440 and 387 is in there too. Thankfully the numbers will be much closer in lower numbers where it counts. And in all practicality, all those numbers just mean her blood sugar is too high. We are looking for general trends, and the exact numbers don't really matter when the blood sugar is so high.

Out of curiosity, when are you feeding Jade now? Yesterday from +2 to +3 she had biggish drop that could have set off a bounce. Giving her some food around +2 might give her some fresh carbs on board when she onsets, and slow down those drops.

Good to know! Yes, $12 in 12 hours. Ouch.
I free feed her several small amounts whenever she asks. She typically naps for about 3-4 hours after her breakfast & morning shot so the +2 and +3 are only from the breakfast mean. I feed her FF pate mixed with so much water it ends up being more like soup. She has early stage kidney disease, so she gets lots of water in her food in addition to her water bowl. As usual, her behavior is quite normal. Thank you for the peace of mind, again.
