So im wondering…. Has anyone used this without using the test solution?
Im looking on walmarts site and cant find anywhere to buy the test solution!
Any advice would help a bunch!

Oh man and i realized i bought the wrong meter! Bah! It seems that the relion prime monitor is not available. Isthat possible?

My monitors never came with test solution. Had to be ordered separately. Moving this to Feline Health as it's more a general question and you might get more answers there.

Thanks wendy! Yup calling relion this am. I guess they ship solution separately? Arg!

Early in this FD journey I bought a bottle of test solution and used it exactly one time. Like everything else it has an expiration date. I am on my third meter. First I bought the FreeStyle Lite because it seemed closest in appearance to the AlphaTrak my vet suggested but the strips were expensive and had to be ordered online as I could never find them in the stores. Second meter was the ReliOn Micro whose company apparently had a falling out with Walmart a couple of years ago and the strips were no longer carried by Walmart. Third meter is the ReliOn Premier which I have been happy with thus far even though I've never figured out how to turn off the beeps. Bama has just had to get used to hearing them although I think he thinks he is done after hearing the first beep when I have just inserted the strip into the meter. He tries to walk away. Little dude needs to learn to count. More beeps are coming.

Haha omg Gina, i guess im not the only one ;) i hope you dont mind the laugh. Yes, i have been tripping through this process a bit. Lando and i started in August and it has gotten better, tho the money output continues at a steady flow haha! Im so lucky that Lando is patient and stoic ( tho demanding ;) ). I called relion and it will take a week for the solution to arrive, that is the one big bummer in all of this. I have to quickie order another $50 vial of AlphaTrak strips :( . Thanks for sharing!

In the meantime, if you get a wonky number on the Relion, test yourself. The same numbers apply to humans.
Oh! So if i test myself and get a pretty standard reading its not totally irresponsible to use the meter!?
I thought maybe i would test on myself and Lano mid day and if its not TOOO bonkers then its safe ( ish.)

My meters didn’t come with control solution either. I called Relion and they sent one for free. Don’t tell them it’s for a cat.
Oh dont worry ;) i dont volunteer to most people that i am caring for a cat. The general population gives you serious side eye if you care for animals beyond the basics ;)

Well, it looks like i will run out of AlphaTrak strips before my new AT strips arrive or my ReliOn test solution arrives.
WILD WEST TIME!
