Gave a little HC food and he vomited. Now won't eat. Gave cerenia and syringe fed hc gravy. Vomited. Gave a little karo. Vomited. He's at 49 BG now

He just begged for treats so I gave him 4 temptations. He was looking miserable with his ears down low and vomited 4 times, and now he's perked up begging for treats. I'll hold off for a bit and try him with mc food again shortly.

If you gave the Cerenia, you need to give it time to work.

You can bring up the numbers by rubbing Karo on your cat's gums.

What did you feed your kitty? I haven't been on the board much this week so I didn't know if Sunny Bear hasn't been feeling all that great. I'm curious is you have a bad batch of food or what may be going on.

He does this every time he goes low, but normally will eat again 5 or 10 minutes after vomiting and will eat again and hold it down. I tried ff gravy lovers, blue blissful belly, and friskies l'il gravies. Just a spoonful and then he vomited and I'd try the next thing.

He's at 49 now. Just rubbed karo on his gums and he's refusing any wet food. But just ate a few pieces of his brother's dry food

A bit of dry is fine. It will take longer than HC canned food to have an effect. The Karo will bring up his numbers more quickly. If may be worth considering that if he is vomiting, trying to get solid food into him may not work.

He's at 61 now. I'll hold off of trying any food for awhile and keep testing, and try him with his regular lc food in a half hour or so.

It generally takes about 30 min or more for the Cerenia to kick in. If numbers drop again, I'd consider Karo on the gums!

Ok thank you! I'll keep the karo handy. I think he's done vomiting now. Hopefully. He may have to be a karo cat i guess when he gets into the 40s since he tends to do this every time.

He's now in general (not just today) disenchanted with the hc and mc foods that we have on hand i think because he associates them with vomiting. Is there a good hc one that's recommended that's very enticing that I could go get?

More honey or Karo. You've got to get his sugar back up. What about more Temptations? I know the board frowns on them but you need to get him up and if he will eat them then give them to him.

Will he eat Fancy Feast Beef in Gravy? I think that is about 20% carb but Susie used to eat it when I needed to raise her glucose. I hope you get the help you need tonight, Holly.

He won't touch it! Because he threw it up once when we used it in the past.

Thanks @Hshray He does seem to be feeling better thank goodness! But just wants to be left alone. Just had a little lc. And he's 63 now. He's getting tired of me. Lol but I persist!
