Destiny ate a few bites at 6am and then refused all food after that. I called the vet in the afternoon and they decided to try an appetite simulant and prescribed liquid capromorelin (aka Entyce). I gave her first dose at 4:30pm. At 6:30pm, she ate a few bites and drank a tiny bit of water, but that is all so far. She is starting to get a little dehydrated.

It’s not the best appetite stimulant for cats. I still like cyproheptadine the best.

Great article Elise. Entyce is specifically contraindicated in cats with acromegaly, as it stimulates production of growth hormone.

Are you assist feeding Destiny? She really needs to get calories in her. Often getting some food in will make them feel better and they'll eat on their own after that. Once I got a syringe or two of food in Neko, she'd often finish the plate herself.

I have been a lot of spoon feeding, which is how she has eaten most of the food thus far this week. And lots of praise and encouragement when she does eat.

@tiffmaxee @Wendy&Neko Thoughts on catnip? She loves to eat and roll around in catnip. It would mellow her out, but would also make her hungry. Under normal circumstances.
