Hi Everyone,

Squeaky didn't eat much last night.

This morning 3 vomits. First vomit had a few undigested treats and was pasty (looked like baby food), with some dried grass he had eaten. Second, I gave him some baby food, and soon after the vomit was the baby food he tried to eat, with a little foam. Third, not long after that, was all white and foamy.

He is definitely not feeling well today, he told me so when we did his medicine routine which occurred before the vomits. At that time, I gave him his cerenia and budesonide pill, but it probably went out with the first vomit.

What shall I do? I did give him his AM shot.

He is still moving around, he is not hiding away. Just found him sitting in the cubby in his tree, which he never usually does. Awake and looking out.

My instinct is to just leave him alone for a while. Comments? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jan. I'm sorry to read that Squeaky is not feeling well today. He's got so much going on that it's hard to know what it could be. I feel for you. You did exactly what I probably would have done (the Cerenia along with his daily Budesonide). And then when they throw it up (has happened to me MANY times) you really can't give it to them again because ... what if?... what if they really didn't throw it up or they have some that was dissolved in their blood stream... you don't want to overdose them so you can't give the meds again!... unless you actually find the pill in the vomit ... intact... you can't remedicate. Argh!

I hope he will be fine by tomorrow. Do you think you will take him into the vet tomorrow if he is not? Can you get an appointment or do a "drop in" or "drop off" kind of thing? When I need a vet appointment on short notice that's what I have to do :-( I HATE it ... dropping them off... I usually hang around in the parking lot anyway or don't go far away at all (down the road for a cup of coffee or something.) Has this happened in the past to Squeaky where he suddenly was vomiting or didn't want to eat? If so, what was it then? How long since his last vet visit or blood work?

So yes... I agree with your instinct... I'd wait and see if her perks up today or even tomorrow (except tomorrow is Friday and then there's Saturday and I'm not sure you can go to the vet on Saturday if you need to?

Got a vet appointment for tomorrow Friday at 3:15. Squeaky just vomited foam again.

I'm glad the vet will check him out. Have you ever given 1/4 of a Pepcid AC tablet. He may have an acid tummy (vomiting foam). You would give 1/4 of an original strength (10mg) Pepcid AC which is Famotidine with no other ingredients in it (not any kind of other additives like the Pepcid Complete). It can really help with the foamy vomits.

I hope it's just a one day stomach upset and he will be better tomorrow. I'm glad you can get him in to see the vet just in case. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you both. I always feel soothed by hearing from you.

Vet thought the pepcid was a good idea. Wow I'm so happy to have a responsive vet!!!! I'll give it to him now.
Thanks for the idea, and thanks for the prayers.

5:10 pm, he is at last trying to drink some water. He turned down two small dishes of very tasty food. But the water is progress. Time for +6 and 1/4 pepcid.

Okay got the pepcid down, and his +7 was 123, nothing to worry about. Thank you both!!!!!

Yay. 7 pm, he ate. I hope he keeps the food down.

Suzanne, should we give him another dose of the pepcid about 12 hours later? Thanks much.
