Ondansetron wears off fast. Are you giving it at night by chance? It’s given 2-3 times a day. When Max was first on it I wasn’t giving a high enough dose so he needed the appetite stimulant I used, cyproheptadine. Once I got the right dose for him I didn’t need cyproheptadine.

What dose did you give max 2-3 times a day? I have been doing 2:30 or 3:30 pm dose. My vet gave me syringes.
 
I used pills. He got 2mg 3 times a day. It started working about 30-45 minutes after given. I used gel capsules and chased them with Gerber’s baby food. Usually I could get him to eat a little without needing to syringe even when he was inappetent. I like gel caps because you can put the pill pieces all in one capsule.

This is super helpful ( activation time) yes i am very sad i have syringes. Pill form would be MUCH less stressful on poor lando.
I am trying to make the vibes as stress free as possible for him. Want to keepthat pancreas chilled out
 
Will your vet give you an RX for ondansetron? I used to shop on line for meds like that in bulk or buy at Costco. I thought the meds was super expensive when dealing with my first sick cat. It was because the oncologist was giving me just a few at a time. I started getting the script from my vet and buying 30 or more at a time and saved so much money. My expensive vet had no idea. He didn’t know prices. He never charged for the scripts. I’ve heard some are charging which I find offensive considering how much we pay for services. I also used Good RX to check for the best price.

Charged for scrips? Thais not cool. Maybe when i ask again he will write an rx, but so far has been very tight fisted with the meds
 
If in your shoes I would find print the part of one of the most recent articles dealing with treatment to ask him about. Keeping cats comfortable means treating the symptoms. :bighug:

Adding you know your vet and whether this will anger.
