HELP please, Oliver's numbers are coming very high. I double checked the Relion meter reading with the Alpha Trak and both showed a very similar number. He has recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Kindney disease. He received a Convinia shot on 9/12. My next plan is to get a new bottle of Prozinc but the vet is closed until Monday. This bottle of Prozinc was opened on 7/18/2021 and has been refrigerated continuously during this time. Should I give him a small dose now increase his dose to 2.25 at the evening shot. I can monitor today and tomorrow, but need to be at work during the week.

He's overdue for an increase. Bump the dose up to 2.25. We can see what the numbers are over the next several days and if still too high, reevaluate. Any time you can get any mid cycle readings, please do.

Thank you for your reply. I did bump him up to 2.25 with last nights dose. I updated his chart through this morning. I did a 2AM reading and he was at 179 then at 7 he was back up to 594. I think he is dehydrated. He usually pees a lot and I noticed there is less in the litter box over the past several days. I will make an appointment with the vet to give him fluids. By the way, he has turned up his nose on all the low phosphorus foods I've tried. Quite a few on your list are not currently available. I am still trying to find one he will eat.

I need help please. I left the Pro Zinc Bottle out after Oliver's morning short. I found it in his supply box when I went to prepare for his evening shot. I was hoping it would still be good. His number at 6:15PM was 547. The vet is closed. I did give him 3U retested at 8PM numbers are up to 598. I called the emergency vet to try and get 2 doses but they will not issue them. What can I do. The vet doesn't open until 9AM tomorrow. I just checked his BG at 9PM and the number is going down. Looks like the bottle is till good. But I will get a new one tomorrow just in case.

It's fine. We've all left it out overnight. One night or day isn't going to make a difference. The high numbers are a coincidence. Could be he went too low today and he's bouncing. Please whenever possible get a mid cycle number. ProZinc dosing is based on how low they go, not by the preshot.
