Hey there!

:) All you can do - is what you can do.

You guys shooting the .5? Have you thought about a dose you might be comfortable giving when you are presented with one of those BGs that are less than 200? Some times we did a skinny .5....something that was less than .5 but more than .25. I had an idea of that both of those doses would do, but this way I didn't skip a dose. This way he got a consistent dose and I got practice at shooting lower numbers.

Prior to abt a month ago, I would try my best to "guess" what dose he would need - he is not consistent and many times in the past when he is under 150 he will bounce - I have had people on this board help with him yrs ago and we were never able to maintain him like other cats. So when I was finally able to get him fairly consistent in the 100-200's, we just shot based on his preshot numbers and my vet suggested to just pick a # I was comfortable with and skip the shot. He was doing well for abt 2 yrs and then his fructosame test came back high so after researching we found my meter was off and also the syringes I was using were not all accurate. SO - he was sometimes not getting any insulin when I was assuming I was shooting .25! Poor Andy!
