Cut yourself some slack. That was nothing. I can direct you to some real temper tantrums.

Bhooma, i finally took a closer look at Bandit’s SS and i wanted to say an extra thank you for all of your help. It looks like even though you seem to have a routine down, im sure you dont have oodles of time to field newbie questions at all hours. Soo… an extra thank you ( have a good morning)Nice and gentle drop. See if he will eat a little now or in a little while. It should be okay if he doesn't right away.
Why do you say that? He dues t seem to have a nadir after +6.@Bandit's Mom and @tiffmaxee , landos pmps is 122, im gonna token shot him tonight. I have a feeling he was much lower while i wasnt testing in the afternoon
Totally unscientific guess… which is probably wrongWhy do you say that? He dues t seem to have a nadir after +6.
Thanks for chiming in Elise, i just dont have the stomach yet to shoot 2u on 120sIt’s fine to give a token dose as you are following SLGS but I doubt he went much lower.
It’s fine. I just don’t want you to base dosing on a guess. Around here if you don’t t see it, it didn’t happen. Being new to lantus is a very good reason to give a token dose. You might even stall to see if he goes a little higher but still give a token dose even if he does. The food change is another good reason. Still get a +2 and go from there on how many tests to get. The first half he could still drop lower. Thanks for chiming in Elise, i just dont have the stomach yet to shoot 2u on 120s
Great advice when trying to use the scientific method here! Will do on the +2 and hoping to hop back on 2u in the am!It’s fine. I just don’t want you to base dosing on a guess. I would LOVE for your crystal ball to be correct! I will bring out all my lucky charms!I am going to predict that he will soon earn a reduction. I hope my crystal ball is accurate. Big anti jinx.
Hi Chelsea, just seeing all the messages. I was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!@Bandit's Mom and @tiffmaxee , landos pmps is 122, im gonna token shot him tonight. I have a feeling he was much lower while i wasnt testing in the afternoon
Thank you Bhooma! This all makes sense to me! Yes he has been pretty lethargic and low ( especially after he eats). I was chalking it up to his pancreas ? and yes i definitely know caffeine withdraws hahaHi Chelsea, just seeing all the messages. I was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
I agree with Elise, I don't think he dropped lower in the day. Cats sometimes do a "double dip" with Lantus. They go up after the nadir and then drop again at the end of the cycle. The second drop is not as low as the nadir. If I were to guess, I would say that 99 was the low. He would have gone up from +5.5 to somewhere near 140-150 and then dropped to 122 at PMPS.
Cats can feel a little low when they first see lower numbers since they are not used to them. Imagine if you were swimming in sugar or caffeine and then it's withdrawn. Once they get used to lower numbers they feel awful in high numbers. I don't know if there is anything else going on with Lando on the appetite front (given his pancreatitis DX), but cats' appetites also reduce at lower numbers.
