9/12 Bama Kitty PMPS 243 +1 254;+2 253; +4 259;

I guess you already know that of all the flavours of Dr. Elsey's kibble, chicken is the lowest carb at ~4.5%. The rest are around 9% carbs.
Yeah, I wanted the chicken but they were out in the 2.2 lb. size at Chewy but will definitely return to it next order. Used to get the 6 lb. size but felt it went stale before he could finish it.

That’s still a high number although lower than her usual. With SLGS you can shoot at 200. That number goes down as you get used to shooting until you shoot 90 and above.

You have shot 254 before. Not much different and well within meter variance.

With TR the no shot number is 50 once you have data.

Keep 4.5. Normal bg is 50-100. Get a +1 and +2. A reduction is earned if under 90.

Lantus does not work like Novolin. Decreasing will not change the outcome of tonight’s cycle. It might effect tomorrow though. Please reread the sticky on how depot insulin works. I dint want you to have a false sense that reducing by .50 tonight will make him safer. :bighug:

The 254 I shot before was Novolin, not this insulin.

The glargine insulins (Lantus, Semglee, Basaglar) and Levemir are great at keeping low numbers low and flat. You don't get the same steep drops you see with Novolin. See how long he held those high yellows last night. Now we just need to get those numbers down 150-200 points.

Can you get one more test tonight, just to see what he's got up his furry sleeves for tonight? If the +2 is around or above the PMPS, it should be relatively quiet.

He is flat as a pancake PM +4; gave a small snack of Dr. Elsey’s dry so he may rise although his numbers didn’t change much after his dinner at shot time.

So you probably could have shot the 4.5 unit, but now you've got more data. FYI, for some kitties, flat yellows is a sign of a more active cycle to come. TBD if that's Baba Kitty too, or just a sign of a flat yellow cycle. :p

Yes, I probably could have. Now he’s 372 at +6.5. Guess I go back to 4.5 and get some nerves of steel. ;)
