I've been having trouble with air bubbles in my syringes lately (new pen) and this morning, after withdrawing the dose into the syringe I saw a bubble in the pen. I am very careful not to inject back into the pen so I'm not sure how the air bubble get there, but does this mean the insulin is compromised?
 
No. I've had air bubbles in my insulin pen as well. It should be okay as long as it's clear and there are no floaties.
Going by his numbers, the insulin seems to be fine.
 
The air bubble is not a problem. I have had them too. We tell members not to inject air back into the pen because the pressure inside the cartridge helps you draw out the insulin, but air itself will not compromise the insulin. When using a glass vial versus a pen, you're actually instructed to push air into it to help you draw from it.
