I knocked Moondance’s dose back by .25 to try and cut down on the number of ear pokes. Since remission isn’t really my goal any more, I just want to keep him feeling his best for whatever time he has left. I may have to make further reductions, as he hasn’t been eating great last night or today. Maybe I’ll see if he wants any of the higher carb cans I have available. I have to puree them in the blender first, as he can’t pick up any kind of chunks or shreds anymore. The Horner’s syndrome makes it so he can’t really close his mouth or control his tongue.

The poor thing has not been grooming well. With the mess he makes when he’s trying to eat, his face, neck, and front paws are filthy. I ordered some waterless cat shampoo to see if he’ll let me clean him up a little. I keep expecting him to let me know he’s had enough, but he still comes to me for snuggles and purrs happily on my lap.

So, that’s where things stand for now.
