Dallas’s pre shot is 110. Is it ok to shoot his dose? His SS is not updated as I am at the airport and have been traveling back home. My boyfriend is at home with him.

It’s been 15 minutes. I accidentally posted in the wrong thread at first (on my cell phone). I told my bf to stall and test again in 30 but he had already fed him.

Sorry I wasn’t home. Next time stall, don’t feed, and test again in 29-30 minutes to see if the bg is going up without food. Have him get a +1 and +2. If either is lower than the pmps have him ask what he should feed him.

I thought he knew to stall and not feed, but I guess he forgot :banghead: By the time I brought it up he had already fed him. I was pretty upset lol. He is going to test him again soon.

It’s ok as long as you have supplies we can use food and honey or karo to bring him up if necessary. Don’t worry.

It will be fine. Don’t worry. Please update your ss when you can.

It’s not too low to shoot. With data people shoot 50 and over.

He was red this morning I see. So he’s coming down from a bounce. Tge +1 is fiat. Feed a little 10-15% mc and check at +2.

I’m not too sure what +1 is fiat means. He should get a bit of medium carb now? How much do you think? A spoonful? I was able to update his spread sheet.

Flat means he didn’t go up or down. He didn’t get a food spike. Feed a couple of teaspoons since it’s early and no food bump.

I thought 121 was a +1 but I see it’s +2. A difference of 10 or 11 is within meter variance. Test again in an hour. It’s good he didn’t go down at +2. Might be a flat cycle.

Ok! He loves that MC food lol. I am boarding my flight in an hour, but I will connect to wifi as soon as it’s available on the flight and update.

But if he’s going down after he checks and I am not available, he will come here and update.

has he earned himself a reduction for tomorrow or stay at 1.75?
Stay at 1.75U.

He is a long term diabetic so he earns a reduction if he drops below 40 (on a human meter) or drops between 40 and 50 on 3 separate days.

"Long term diabetics
- more than one year since diagnosis
  • reduction *earned* after a single drop below 40 mg/dL for those following TR, or
  • reduction *earned* after 3 drops between 40 - 50 mg/dL on three separate days for kitties who have shown they do not hold reductions well and following TR, or
  • reduction *earned* when the cat regularly has its lowest BGs in the normal range of a healthy cat (50 - 80 mg/dL) and stays under 100 mg/dl overall for at least one week and following TR."

Totally!

Excellent cycle! :)
It was a little challenging doing this while traveling and relaying everything to Tyler, but he did great! His SS is fully updated. I noticed some small errors as I was updating it on my phone. I should mention that Dallas was first diagnosed in March 2020, but went into remission 3 weeks later with a change in diet. He was kicked out of remission in April 2021 and that's when he started insulin. So, he's only been on Lantus for 4-5 months. I will add this info to my signature.

Even in remission, a diabetic cat is still a diet controlled diabetic :-)

But yes, please add the info to your SS and Signature (if there is space).
