8/19 Jack AMPS 343 +2 357 +3.25 248 +6.5 58...+7.5 65 +8 82 +9.5 142 PMPS 345

15 minutes later and he's 66. So I guess he hit a low nadir today? I'll check again in 15-20 minutes and make sure he's still on his way up. With Levemir, could he dip again after he goes up some?

We cross posted. You can test 30 minutes after the last test. There’s always a chance of a double dip.

It's so strange how this happened. I was thinking about increasing because he's been around the same dose for too long now (while I was waiting for Levemir to arrive). Well, I won't be increasing!

Before I tested him at +6.5 (with the BG 58), he ate 2 big blobs of food. I can't imagine what his BG was without a food bump. But because he's always been food motivated, he willingly ate another blob when I tested him at 58. He certainly does love his food. :joyful:

Congrats on your first green on Lev. The Levemir depot will take a week to build.

With doses over 5U, increases and decreases are in multiples of 0.5U, but I'm not sure if that's only for TR. I think not.
Tagging @Wendy&Neko and @tiffmaxee for confirmation on whether to reduce to 5U or 5.25U.

Thanks Bhooma. Earlier in this thread, Elise said to reduce to 5.25, but I wanted to be sure that .25 was right for higher doses. I think I read, somewhere, that increases and decreases should be larger in big dose kitties.

If it takes a week to build up, will his BG drop lower because of that? Should I anticipate that?

Hi Carolyn, I saw that too but I'm not a 100% sure if the rules are different for SLGS and TR since SLGS is a more conservative protocol.

I know that for TR its multiples of 0.5U over 5U and 1U over 10U.

Wendy or Elise should see this and confirm.

I would reduce to 5.0 units in the morning. Some cats on higher doses are sensitive to smaller changes, but lets start out conservative and see how Jack reacts to the change. With the larger dose comes a larger depot, which may mean you'll see lower numbers for a few more cycles yet.

Congrats on the reduction. :D

I was so happy to see it! I'm setting my alarm to check him at +6. I don't know what to expect next! (In a good way.)

Hi Wendy, is the 0.5U over 5U and 1U over 10U for both SLGS and TR?
