8/16 Belle AMPS: 97, +9.4: 104, PMPS: 101, +2: 92, +4: 81

I think you are green enough to go down to a drop dose but I will tag @tiffmaxee for confirmation. She will be here in 5 hours or so. She's on the West Coast

I think she should be okay if you leave food out.

I would stay with the 0.1 dose a bit longer. You need to be staying in green for 7 days to reduce the dose (if you haven’t earned the reduction) and you have 6 blue BGs during that time.
Are you giving a +9 low carb snack during both the cycles? By doing that you can stimulate the pancreas to produce some insulin and it sometimes brings down the preshot BG.

I almost always give a snack at +10… well around 9.75 I suppose. I thought +10 would be okay because it’s 2 hours pre shot? I do give her little snacks throughout the day. But these days are uncommon that I have to leave food out until I get home from work at +9. Usually we can get a +2 test at the very least. She snacks most of the day and then I make sure she has something when I get home. My boyfriend is in charge sometimes and he doesn’t do things exactly to a tee, so some of the days pre shot I have no idea what happened here lol. I always at least ask him to remove food at +10

You are obviously doing everything right to get Belle to this stage!
When a kitty reaches this stage but is still having a few blue preshots, we suggest feeding at +9 to stimulate the pancreas. I’d try +9 instead of +10 if you can to see if that makes a difference. It’s worth a try.
She is very close to remission and we want her to have a strong remission. :)

I agree! We also want her to have a strong remission ;) sometimes work really gets in the way of our fine tuning. We do try our best. I think a timed feeder may be in our best interest

Actually, the six blue BGs in and of that number of them in one week don’t bother me. But what does bother me is one that is a high as 130 unless there is a reason for it such as contraband.

If there is not, I would not reduce now but I’d start my consecutive cycle count for 7 days after that. If she has a stray blue BG close to 100 and all the rest below 100, I’d decrease after 7 days.

I was at work for that test, my boyfriend did not retest but there had been a “fight” between my new kittens and the big girls (Belle included) shortly before he had taken her BG. I asked if it could be stress induced, some people said quite possibly. That was the highest number since July 25. I don’t believe there could have been anything for her to get into, but the kitten kibble is kept upstairs where she hasn’t been going as of late but I’m not so confident that my boyfriend puts it away when he’s supposed to

I’ll throw out one more thing. Maybe meter variance was high. How about giving it a couple days at least to see rather than wait a full 7 more days, especially if the nadirs are on the lower end of normal? Thoughts?USER=2058]@Marje and Gracie[/USER] ?

I’m down to try anything. My main goal is either regulation or remission …. Anti jinx. Hoping for the second option ;) I can’t complain. You have all been so helpful and my girl has done a 180 regardless! We are patient :) and willing to take any advice!

Two hours is not enough time. It takes 3-4 hours for the pancreas and endogenous insulin to do it’s job.

I’d give her three more days so it’s a total of 7 after that 130.
