Maybe he no longer needs insulin?
Hopefully! Cannot be sure as to how much of the Lantus depot is still affecting his numbers, but it's looking good.

Don't open the syringes so you can return them if you have to! ;)

Looking at these numbers, I would wait for the food transition to finish before attempting to restart insulin. When do you switch to 100% LC? Tomorrow?

Yes, tomorrow. +4 is 93

+6 118, he did have extra food this morning when I checked him at +2, apparently since then we've been giving him a small "treat" of 3-4 kibbles each check which is gonna elevate the number a bit IIRC.

+10 150. Not sure where to go from here and how to adjust dosing if still needed.

Maybe wait still until 100% new food before considering insulin. :)

Lantus is a depot insulin, which means that it gets stored in subcutaneous fat and gets released slowly. It can take 6 cycles or 3 days to fully deplete, so you could still be seeing some insulin at work. Hard to know. You will find out in two hours. :)

I didn't realize it stored for so long! I knew about the storage but I thought it'd be depleted in 1 day. I guess so. :) We've still got 25% old HC food to get him off of too to see true numbers. :)

I have a feeling that taking him off that will get him into some nice numbers pretty quickly. Hang in there! :)

Thanks for the inspiration! Tomorrow night we switch to 100% LC food. Sadly, the bag is running out super fast. We bought the 2 LB bag to see if they like it and BOTH cats love it. Whoops.

PMPS - 122

Looks like he dropped ~30 over the last two hours. Maybe he needs a slight amount of insulin, however I'm unsure.

He's still getting slightly more carbs than necessary with the old food.

Yes, LC. CleanProtein Chicken flavor. We'll switch to wet if they'll tolerate it after we get him stable. 7% carbs according to their bag.
It's a little less than 5% carbs

Wait till he fully transitions to the new food.
