Yesterday

My husband and I have to go to the East Coast for a wedding in two weeks. We will have someone here staying with George and giving him insulin, but she is not able to test. I realize two weeks is still a little while away, and of course I can revisit when it gets closer to make sure nothing has changed, but wanted to see if there are any recommendations for a vacation dose. George has been on 1.75 units of Lantus for a month and regularly gets into the 50s on this dose but hasn’t gone below that yet.

George has been on 1.75 units of Lantus for a month and regularly gets into the 50s on this dose but hasn’t gone below that yet.

Gosh! I just realized after you pointed it out that he has indeed been on the same dose for a month. But he's looking so much better! Green almost every day (and longer stretches) and much less bouncing!

We’ll be gone for a week.

We’ve had an extremely difficult time finding a sitter who can “do it all” (and finding a consistently available sitter at that). Despite how his spreadsheet looks, George isn’t really very amenable to anyone touching his ears except for me…my husband CAN do it if necessary but George has very low patience with him doing it even though it’s his favorite person. Otherwise no one else has been able to, which definitely adds to the stress of having to be away.

I know, I keep waiting for him to indicate that a dose change is needed, but nope…he just keeps cruising along at this dose for the time being.
