Is that a bounce from changing insulin schedule?

Went to Wal-Mart and they're only prescription to get insulin syringes, initially showed out of stock and then saw some so went in.

Would you give insulin now instead of waiting until 8 PM?

I really want to get him on 0.5 BID but don't really have a way to.

The 205 might be because he hasn't gotten insulin on a consistent basis. Bouncing is a reaction to a lower number than the cat is used to, but Dexter is no stramger to green numbers. If he doesn't get enough insulin, that causes higher numbers.

If you give the insulin now the next shot would be in 12 hours. I’d just wait. If you want to change your time you can shoot whenever you want.

The new dose will be .75 when you get syringes.

She skipped this morning which is why I think it’s rising. Shooting every 24 hours just doesn’t work but there was no other solution until you have the syringes.

Yes, agreed, I was just trying to differentiate high numbers from no insulin versus bouncing.

Yeah I figured this unfortunately was gonna be the outcome for now.

We ordered syringes this afternoon and they'll be here Saturday, until then it's gonna just be 1U a day.

I just hope he doesn't feel too crappy for the next few days.

Joseph, it would be helpful if you could stick to one new post per cat per day. It's easier for us that way, as I was on earlier and saw your posts about waiting for the syringes.

Yes. But when the syringes come you could try either .50 or .75.

PMBG 105... Switched to 50/50 old HC & new LC food tonight as well. I guess I test in two hours and see if he's below 100... I don't want to give him a shot yet especially since he's eating less carbs tonight.

No, he gets two meals. One during morning test/shot time and one at night test/shot time.

We've had to do it this way so far because of him trying to eat Sofis food if left out.

They used to graze and he got really overweight because of it.

If you were asking if we've been doing 50/50, no. We were doing 75/25 Old/New and did it for 2 days with no issues. Instructions on the bag said it's fine to lift to 50/50 after 2 days if they digest okay.
