Hi Debra, this is the 13th day on this dose and it seems like her numbers have moved a tad higher. They were better in the first week on this dose.

Wondering if an increase (or the threat of one), will nudge them lower?

Tagging @tiffmaxee for advice.

Thank you for looking at our ss :)

I've been moving around her shot times because we were traveling this past Sunday, and her mealtimes had shifted a TINY bit because of it, but we are getting back to normal now. I was thinking I would give her a few days back to normal and see what happens?

But, I'm going to tell her what you said!! Especially since she tried to pee in her food bowl after she was done with it this morning. With the litter box sitting 2 feet away. ggrrrrrr

I cannot believe she does this! LOL!
Have you tried Feliway or something to calm her if this is anxiety?
We started CBD oil which helps, but I think this is a reaction to one of our other cats who chases her sometimes. He was chasing her yesterday - everyone gets cranky when we vacuum, and I think he was taking it out on Jill yesterday, and then Jill wants to protect her resources.

I've tried Feliway before, but I've never really seen much of an improvement. I have another cat who pees everywhere, and I noticed that when I spray the Feliway on something, he will pee on it! It has the opposite effect on him (not surprising, he is very special).

We discussed yesterday (I think) whether to increase and decided to wait a little longer due to the wonky shooting recently due to having a life. Big drop today. If you don’t see a longer time in green today or tonight I think a nudge would be a good idea. Okay it’s my second threat.

@Bandit's Mom @tiffmaxee

OK, now this is different. We are at PMPS and she's 86. I tested twice because it seemed wrong. I was not expecting this because at +8 she was 138. I do not have very much +8 data, but what I do have shows that it would be close to her PMPS, not this far under. I'm going to wait a little and test again in about 15 minutes. Any thoughts on what's going on or what I should do?

Elise, she heard your double threat.

Yeah, I've read that a bunch of times here. They will continue to drop since you're stalling and not feeding. It doesn't look like she's going to go up at this point. How long since she ate/how long have you been stalling?
She ate around 6 pm EST and I've been stalling since 8:20 pm. I just had to feed her, she's still droppping.

Hi. I’m just seeing this. So you are only 20 minutes last shot time? She was 66 before you fed her? Did you feed lc?

I was supposed to shoot almost 2 hours ago now. 8:30 pm EST was my shot time.
86 @ 8:20 pm
80 @ 8:48 pm
74 @ 9:15 pm
66 @ 9:50 pm

I fed her a spoonful of mc around 9:50 pm because she was still dropping. Not sure if that was the right thing to do :/ but I'm worried.

Debra, where are you at from preshot please? 1 hour past? Can you test again. MC may influence next test.

I last rested 25 mins ago. I can test again but should I wait until it's been 20 mins since she finished eating?

Thank you for responding!!

We cross posted. Christie, if it were me I would skip at this point but what do you think?

What I would have done initially was shoot after the second test provided I could monitor. I would have fed higher lc. around 10%.

I fed her 12% carbs about 25 mins ago. I guess I've never seen her keep dropping at shot time, even if she's lower than usual.

I’d feel better if that 66 was after a lc.

It always catches us off guard. Next time you will be prepared. If you get a second test that’s flat like you got that’s when you shoot. She continued to drop because she needed food.

So, skip the shot, or shoot now? I also have to feed her something again now or she will rip my face off.

Debra, from my perspective, you fed MC with not much food bump. You are at more than 2 hours from original shot time, so it will be hard to adjust back to normal time ( not impossible). Since you don't have previous issues with DKA I'd skip.

It’s what Christie and I both would do but if you had wanted to shoot I would have stuck with you. So next time this happens after the second test you decide whether to shoot and I hope you will. While lower it was shootable. Someone wrote shooting a falling number was a gift. I read that recently.
You can pick whatever time you want fir your shot time in the morning although I think you are back where you want it.

Thank you, I think skipping is the way to go, too. I'll test again in a bit and see what's happening.
For future reference, should I have shot at regular her time even though I'd have been shotting at 80ish? (I know shoot low to stay low, but the dropping got me confused.) The drop is definitely from not eating at her shot time? I didn't realize that would happen. I thought the insulin is wearing off around that time since her afternoon BG was higher and she'd continue to rise.

Thank you - everyone! Sorry for stalking you all :/

Thank you also to @smorgasbord for the "anonymous animals" comment which gave me a laugh I really needed. While Jill is pulling her hijinx, I got one cat peeing behind the chair I'm sitting on and another yelling bloody hell from his bedroom because he wants to eat again.

Sometimes you get more carryover from one cycle to the next. I think this was one of those. Shooting at 80ish is safe and if she ate well would likely have led to a flat cycle.

Sounds like fun at your house. For cats. Not so much for the humans. :bighug:
