I want to make sure I’m doing Fritz’s +2 right. Is it 2 hours after his last test or 2 hours after his injection?
I tested him at 7:55 and his BG reading was 337, high for him, although last night’s number was close. He ate some Elsey’s a little over two hours prior to testing, bowls up before 5:55. I fed him his usual 1/2 can Fancy Feast pate immediately after testing him. Checked on him ten minutes later, he had eaten half. I wasn’t going to shoot without more food in his system. Put a few Elsey’s kibble on top, left hm for five minutes. He ate the 5-6 bits of kibble, no more pate. Then he used the litter box, a BM. I put Orijen Six Fish on the remaining pate, and offered it to him. He finished his food. Was finally able to inject him at 8:50. I think that a greater than two hour food pickup is going to be necessary with Fritz, as well as at least four hours for his appetite to be good. All of that said, do I test two hours after the last test or two hours after the last insulin? Good grief, my NERVES!
