Increased this am to 9.25. I busted out the rice sock again to hopefully ease the ear pricks. We were doing very well without it and he kind of catches on to the “ritual” that precedes things like that but I’m hoping i can use a shallower setting on the lancing device and cause him less irritation this way!

… speaking of “ritual” I had to prep the admin line and needle for a new bag of fluids and now he’s hiding so I can’t test his usual nadir time - ughhh!!

I think we are bouncing … at least he came out of hiding and I could do BG (but it was after food and fluids so could also be stress induced)

This morning BG test was a calamity - despite being exhausted last night, couldn’t fall asleep, crickets were loud. Finally resorted to earplugs. Didn’t hear alarm to test this am for 12 minutes. Went for his ear bc he was laying down, but he got up so I went for his paw. Didn’t get enough blood so went to re-cock the lancet, the cap came off instead. Went to put it back on and missed and instead stabbed my finger with the lancet. Cat ran away. I’m bleeding profusely, direct pressure and elevation took time to stop it. Flushed it with peroxide, band aided up, started over, and opted to go back to bed rather than hit the gym and attempt to lift heavy things over my head. Hopefully the rest of the day will be better!
