7/16 Jill AMPS 137 / +3 77 / +4.25 77 / PMPS 178 / +2 134 / +4 113

Go for it! She is no longer new to green so you can increase every 6 cycles.
I'll increase tomorrow morning (should have asked last night!). Question about TR - I know the goal (fingers crossed) is remission, but if she doesn't get there, are we stuck in this loop of testing all the time and adjusting dosages forever? Do kitties get to a point where they are stable and you can go to a schedule of less BG testing? Wondering if I'm ever getting my nights back and if eventually, I have to go back to work in an office, we'd have to make a lot of adjustments.

From the TR protocol
Increasing the dose:
  • Hold the dose for 3 - 5 days (6 - 10 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are less than 200 before increasing the dose by 0.25 unit.
    • if your cat is new to numbers under 200, it is recommended to hold the dose for at least 8-10 cycles before increasing.
    • when your cat starts to see nadirs under 100, hold the dose for at least 10 cycles before increasing.
  • Increase by 0.25 unit after 3 days (6 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are greater than 200, but less than 300.
  • Increase by 0.5 unit after 3 days (6 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are greater than 300.
When the cat starts to see nadirs under 100 on a dose, that dose is held for at least 10 cycles. You are only up to cycle 7 on the current dose.
Yes, you have seen nadirs under 100 before but it was with a lesser dose.
I would recommend you follow the protocol and wait the 10 cycles.

Thank you! She has had a couple of greens with this dose.

Hi Bron, please correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding was that the requirement to hold doses 10 cycles was when they "start seeing" green (are new to green}. Jill has seen green nadirs for months now and the idea is to bring her nadirs down to lower green. I though in such cases, you could increase every 6 cycles?

Some cats do flatten out and become more predictable and you can hold doses longer (more than 10 cycles). You would still want to get 4 tests a day for safety sake.
