Yesterday on Ruby All Day and All Night.

Late posting today, had a hard time getting out of the house this morning. Ruby was looking a little peaked when I left the house. She doesn't eat much at night anymore, her appetite being spurred mostly during the day by the pred, and she only had a few bites of breakfast. Her numbers are running high and I keep hoping the D-Mannose will work.

Hope everyone is having a good day so far.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

M not sure how accurate the home testing is. If a full blown uti I would get a culture and sensitivity. The oncologist missed a uti with Tiffany and ruined her kidneys. Don’t delay. :bighug:
I was reading Dr. Pierson last night on UTIs and it scared me. Definitely doing the C&S tests and suggesting Clavamox, among the million other things diabetes and SCL related to discuss with Ruby's oncologist tomorrow, a conversation that I will be doing by Facetime. :banghead:

I would suggest considering Veraflox if you've got a UTI. Clavamox is known to cause a lot of GI upset (unless you know that it works for you). Veraflox is considered incredibly effective drug for UTIs and kidney infections, it is also likely to be effective against any bacteria growing (but the culture will confirm that). Just my preferences, in my experience we've had a tough time kicking UTIs, so have benefitted well from Veraflox (or something like it, like Baytril or Zeniquin). That family of drugs is excellent for urinary problems.

Good to know. Clavamox is a nightmare in this house. Food goes straight out and still smells like food on the other end. I’ll suggest Veraflox next time the vet wants to throw antibiotics at us.

Thanks for this, Margaret! :bighug: Despite the fact that my cats ate kibble for so many years we never had to deal with a UTI so this is all new territory for me. Hope Ruby’s kidneys will be all right after this. :(

Ruby's staying blue it looks like for this evening and this makes me happy. She's been really sweet and snuggly and asking to be let out of the apartment all the time to explore, so I take all of this as a good sign that her infection or inflammation is starting to wane. Tomorrow is oncology, the day we've ALL been waiting for, and I wrote out a list of topics to tackle with the vet including every other week dosing of chlorambucil. Let's cross our fingers that it goes well.

I'm so happy Katherine seeing those blues tonight. Sounds like she is feeling better with wanting to snuggle and explore. I would take this as a good sign also.
Praying and positive vibes all goes well tomorrow when you talk to the doctor
Give that snuggle bunny a big kiss for me .Big hugs for you mama ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Katherine, sounds like a very stressful day. I hope tomorrow gives you a good solid treatment plan to follow for the SCL, questions being answered to all of your concerns, answers to your concerns and treatment for the UTI. I hope you have some peace of mind when you hang up that phone. Hope Olive is doing / staying well and allowing your focus to be all about Ruby. :cat: Sending our loving prayers and healing hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
