? Ketone Testing

I am familiar with testing strips for aquariums and they are not as accurate as other testing types, I wonder if the same is true between the ketone strips and ketone meters? I am on a fixed income and trying to figure out my best options for ensuring my boy is as healthy as he can be.

The decision to use ketone testing strips (which measure urine) vs blood meters is based on a few things. First, how easy is it for you to catch Jaxon in the act and get fresh pee from his stream? People with litter box shy cats or multiple cats might go to blood meters. I had two cats, but Neko was very predictable at what times she used the LB so it was easy to catch her in the act. People who have ketone prone cats or recent DKA might also want the more immediate results from a blood ketone meter. Shows up there faster than in urine. I was not referring to a blood testing meter, I was referring to the ketone testing meters vs the test strips, whether one is more accurate than the other etc.

Ketones test meters use blood to test. At least one of then can also test blood glucose.

Good to know at least some of them use blood .... I had seem some marketed to use urine so thought to ask, thanks

I always used a ketone blood meter. Much easier than catching her in the box
