^^^ Yesterday's thread. Did I do this right?

Set an alarm, fed 4% Friskies, stood there half asleep as he ate, took it away, went back to bed, and tested him exactly 2 hours later.

AMPS 493

Gave (totally exact I'm sure) 2.75 units of Lantus with 1/2ml 5/16 31 gauge needles with NO 1/2 unit markings.

Then gave more LC 4% Friskies.

Yes! :-)

Is the plan to feed him only LC Friskies/FF from now on unless he drops low?

He may high today from last night's skip and bounce from yesterday's lows, but at some point (in the next few cycles), 2.75U may end up being too much. Let's see. Fasten your seat belt! :D

Yup! Well, F&FF plus I got a bunch of new types at the store yesterday, all LC, organized by carb level now ;)

Fascinating that I can control it with food. So much yet to learn.
Yeah, I was surprised how high he was this AM, even 2hr pp. This may be quite the ride!

That looks like my cat food shopping! For a while, Minnie LOVED the weruva chicken frickazee...then she stopped. I might bring it back out again.

You can update the BG test numbers you are doing in the title thread so that anyone scanning the list of posts for the day can see them at a glance without going into your condo. Like right now it would read: "6/30 Templeton AMPS 493 +1 420 +2 464 +3 440 +4 440".

I'm curious: is Templeton named after the rat in "Charlotte's Web?"
 
Raise your hands if I can give him his PM I early/now, or are bounces this strong, and early would be effectively increasing the dose too high?

Aren't cats with lion cuts just too cute. They like to cut the tail mostly off, had to stop them mid-cut!

Oh yes, he is named after Templeton the rat. I often sing the fair song to him, "a fair is a veritable smorgasbord, orgasbord, after the the gaaaates have shut."

Today was a combination of him bouncing from the green and the skipped shot last night disrupting the depot. He was seeing green on 3U when being fed RC wet and dry which are HC/MC. The food change should make a difference.

He’s bouncing right now plus you skipped last night. So we need to see what happens once the bounce clears. I think the food change will result in less insulin being needed but I don’t know when.
 
Btw, in cycles like today, you needn't test every hour. Every 2-3 hours is fine. Give his ears a break. Save it for crazy cycles - and believe me, they are coming!

Thanks for the reassurance. And the spreadsheet list. It took me a second, but I could eventually see the same/similar thing in all those spreadsheets. I feel better now.

Crazy what that skip can do. Glad I'm here now and can get a handle on this instead of upping and lowering all willy nilly.

Heh, you're right. I got itchy and wanted to test out the new Relion and see how it did. Can you believe it arrived that fast?! We have a huge hub not too far from us.

5.4 hours after PM shot he tested 338. Down to 180 +10.
Also, do you ever sleep? lol. Or does your Bandit wake you up for foods often? He is seriously so cute in your profile photo. Incredibly intelligent eyes. Also looks like he's about to initiate biscuit making mode.

My tuna definitely still makes biscuits every single day! And he suckles on me and sleeps on my head for the past 12 years. I found him at 2 days old when his momma abandoned him and his sister so we have quite the bond. I do have his sister too :cat:
