Good morning all,

Today is Pearl's first day at 0.75U. 1U was wonky unexpectedly about halfway in at that dose, which led me to some concerns about a bout with Pancreatitis. Blood work a couple days ago show no acute attack there, but potential UTI so we are now culturing that.

So Pearl has been on some sub q fluids this week (more than usual) and Buprenex. As of yesterday afternoon she started turning a corner and her sunny hungry self started to re-appear so I hope that also correlates to more typical BGs for her (mid-range GREEN rather than high green).

Surf safely today kitties and enjoy your Caturday.

Hi Margaret...
I always like to track Pearls progress especially seeing we started this journey together within 5 days of each other... 6 months and we've both learned so much:) I hope Pearls new dose works better for her. Enjoy your weekend!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

So being new to all of this... I'm curious why you decided to decrease her dose? I thought they only "earned" their decrease when they've gone under 50 twice.

Hi Heather, if your cat is a new diabetic and you’re following TR, he earns a reduction by going under 50 ONCE.
The other way he can earn a reduction (not as common) is by being in green only numbers or a few verrry low blue (normal numbers) consistently with no blips for 14 consecutive cycles. This is what Pearl usually does. If you’re looking at her chart, ignore the days where she gets Prednisolone. That is a different conversation and irrelevant for you unless you have a Pred kitty, in which case I will not confuse you unless you need Pred advice.

Hmmm... I'm going to pm you. Thanks for the info! :)

Hi Tammy! It's so good to hear from you! I always check on Missy too, every week or two weeks - I got through spurts when I'm on here and then when I am away. She is looking good! :bighug:
