The 95 last night was a surprise. Mandy and Rex - you were right. Good start this morning at 136. I guess I might be on my toes again today. I know the drill. Fed a little at +1 then test at +2. I might test at +1.

Question: Why do my condo threads have the little binoculars ("watch") next to them on the LBL main forum page. Others have the binoculars too. I feel like I am on the homeland security watch list.

Good morning Summer, a nice green last night and a nice start for today.
I hope Susie has a nice surf today and doesn't make you work too hard.
Have a nice day Summer ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Diane. The reduction may not be a failed one. She is in lower blues, which was always what I wanted, but I would like to see some upper greens. The greens (safe ones) can be addicting. I hope you and Ashley have a wonderful day as well.

If you see a flat cycle such as Susie's yesterday, that's usually a prediction of a drop the next cycle.

I'm glad you are holding 2.5u. Keep holding it for at least 4 more cycles because of the green you caught last night, unless something happens.

Okay, Mandy. I'm actually getting numbers I always wanted. The low blues. But, I must say, the greens can be a little addicting. Not the low ones but I would like to see some upper greens. Looks like she might be staying a little flat today, too. Hope that doesn't mean an active cycle tonight. :arghh: We will see. Thanks for the support.

I studied the numbers a little bit more. Did you notice that Susie gets to greens after a yellow? That also seems to be a pattern with her.

If she's staying steady, I wouldn't feed again except at the normal times. :)

My normal times, when I am not concerned about a possible drop, are AMPS, +3 and +6 during the am cycle. I make sure she gets her 3 oz spread out in the daytime cycle. Today, she had 1 oz at AMPS, 1 oz spread between +1, +2, +3 and I just gave her 1 oz for lunch. She is done with food until PMPS. She used to nadir at/around +6 but that is coming earlier these days and I don't want to feed her all her am food by +3 or +4. That would leave too many hours in the day before her next meal. I just noticed that her yellow AMPS on the 20th, 21st and 22nd resulted in greens but someone had mentioned to me that the lower her AMPS the less of a fall in later numbers. It was told to me so I wouldn't worry about shooting lower numbers. Does this mean something to you? It is interesting though.

Yes, shoot low to stay low.. which to me means if you see a nice number, don't be afraid to shoot. It's likely to keep the cycle fairly flat instead of up and down like you saw with the yellows dropping to greens.

Let's focus on 2.5u for now and make decisions when the time comes.

I believe that the reason she shoots up at+8 is the 1 oz of food I am feeding at +6. This used to be okay when her nadir was at +6 but now that it is more +3 or +4 I guess I have to feed her all her am food by +4 or at least +5. I hate to do this because that means many, many hours before she gets to eat again (PMPS). I don't like this but it is the only thing I can think of that is raising her glucose so high at +8. What do you think, Mandy?

That's a possibility for why her numbers go up that late in the cycle. What % is the lc? Maybe try a lower % later in the cycle. I am not very knowledgeable on how to feed the cycle.

It is the Fancy Feast Turkey and Giblets Classic Pate which is only 2%. Don't know how I could go much lower than that but something is really spiking her at +8 the last couple of days. I'm getting ready to get a +10 so we will see where she is.

304 @ +10. Now I am quite perplexed.

Can you please look at Susie's spread sheet and tell me what you think?
Not Chris, but I'll put my two cents in. Option 1 - the pinks were the high before the low. Tonight will tell and that +2 is a pretty steep drop, though not out of realm of what Susie does as she likes steep drops from on high. Option 2 - the reduction failed. The bounce from 6/21 is over. Her numbers have been going up. The larger depot can influence 4-6 cycles after a reduction and the larger depot caused the greens on 6/22 AM and could have been a factor in last night. But now it's past 6 cycles so what you are seeing is what the 2.5 unit dose and depot can do.

I think you are right that she's losing some duration from the +6 feed. There are some zero carb foods out there you could try. Or move the feed to +5 and see if it makes a difference. With food experiments though, it takes a while to see patterns. I would stick with a particular time to feed for at least a week and see if you can see a difference.

If your goal is mostly blues with the odd green, that's not tight regulation. But that's OK, your goal for Susie doesn't have to be tight regulation, you could target her being well regulated.
