A cat has to be in normal numbers (50-100) without insulin for 14 days (called an OTJ trial) to be considered in remission.

For that to happen a cat goes down the dosing ladder (for e.g. 1U to 0.75 to 0.5 to 0.25 to 0.1 to a drop and then an OTJ trial). A newly diagnosed cat (less than a year since diagnosis) earns a reduction in a dose by (a) either falling below 50 or (b) staying in normal numbers for a week.
Here's the SS of a cat that went into remission:

Money is indeed looking good and we can hope that she gets there! But patience is key on this journey. :)

Ohhhh man I’m a longgg ways away ….. :(

Some cats go down the dosing ladder faster than others. Hang in there. We want a strong remission, so better not to rush it. :bighug:
Yes that is definetly the GOAL!!!! It seems like her numbers are getting better !! Yesterday alll green !!! Can’t wait for this libre to come (eye roll!) so I could get hourly testing !!! Cuz money is really tired of me poking her all the time ! She starting to put down her ears like pls nooo mom leave them alone !i feel soo bad for her !

Hi Roxanne!

All well with you and Money? You haven't posted in a few days and I don't see anything on your SS for today. Just checking in.
