Hu Adrienne, nice greens for Dolly, one time my sister had a kitty that was really congested, couldn't even breath , that's how stuffed up his nose was.
They actually wanted to keep him for a few days, had a slight fever
It was long ago , they must have given us antibiotics also
He couldn't even eat that's how bad it was
The vet told us to get a cool mist humidifier and put it close to him
It actually helped
I went and took care of him at my sisters house, took his temperature
Never in my life would I imagine putting a thermometer up a cats butt lol
I had to put small amounts of baby food on the lid to get him to eat
Thank god he pulled thru

He was not diabetic
The vet said we could put a small drop of nose spray in each nostril , like afrin or
neo-synephrine once a day for 2 days
It helped, I am NOT suggesting to do this, just wanted to tell you what I did

Ask your vet about using a cool mist humidifier

I used to have a cool mist humidifier running in my old apartment all the time in the winter because it was very dry and I had drafty windows. The cats actually liked taking turns sitting underneath the plume of water vapor. :D

That's too funny, maybe Adrienne can ask her vet about using one
It really did help my sisters cat.

Thanks so much Diane for caring. Been running a cool mist humidifier 24/7 for 4 years. Tried baby nasal spray, ending up spraying her face. Dolly is very strong and does not like anything in her nose or mouth, no pills ever. I feel like I tried it all including an enormous amount of different antibiotics. This has been going on for 8 years. Could have developed polyps but not ready to put her through more testing. Dolly is very difficult. Thank you for caring. I would just put some of the spray on my finger and try and let it drip in the nostrils
Give her kisses for me ok :bighug:

You may be right but I believe she would have today if I didn’t feed mc as well as yesterday and I don’t believe the 144 was right, should have taken again, it didn’t fit. I guess it’s “know thy cat” and I do believe by testing so often I prevent limes. I’ll wait a few days. She’s not eating today which is not normal for her anyway, except the mc, she ate that. Thanks

She's seeing great numbers on this dose. The occasional MC to keep them on a dose they are seeing good numbers is perfectly okay.

Thanks Bhooma. I don’t know why you are missing my tags either, been going on awhile. But for how long on a dose? Do I let her go under 50, I believe she would. I don’t always give mc at 55, in fact I never did before. Just get that feeling with Dolly lately. I will wait, but even her blues are very low. Have a lovely evening Bhooma. If you see a week in green, you can reduce. Her preshots are also coming down. Her numbers look on this dose. When she wants a reduction she will tell you in no uncertain terms :-)
