My doctor did not have buprenorphine on hand but I think can prescribe it. I cannot find anywhere that is not metric what the dosage should be for Aggy. What is the correct dosage? I would like to come to my vet with an informed opinion.

I posted on other thread.

Here is another info on bupre.

Your vet needs to talk with pharmacist on dosing. There are different concentration and it's based on weight. It's all metric dosing.

Ollie use to get low maintenance dose of 0.1 ml (cc) every 8 hrs and could have 0.3 ml every 8 hrs when the flare was really active. But I don't remember the concentration per ml.

Wish I still had some I would send a photo of label. I don't have the receipts anymore.

Wedgwood, Roadrunner, Diamondback have it that I know of. Once it's called in you can call pharmacy and have them expedite it or overnight it if you are willing to pay extra for it. I know Wedgewood will overnight. I had to have that done a few times for Ollie's meds when the mail system was really behind in delivery.

Me personally, I would start looking for new vet when things settle down.

I don’t know if it was just a one off thing, but when I ordered from Wedgewood last month, it took a week to get my prescription even with the expedited shipping. Once it shipped, I did get it overnight but it took them 5 days just to process the order. Just maybe something to double check on before ordering, especially with a time sensitive med like a pain med

It's possible for some meds to take longer. When I got cabergoline from them it takes 3 days to make the compound (which I'm told was made fresh each time). Then a day to get it prepped for shipping and picked up by carrier.

the gabapentin chewable took awhile the 1st time but after that I had it in 5 days because they didn't have to make it, it was just orders got stuck being done over a weekend.

That’s a good point and consideration! :cat: The first med I ordered from them a few years ago was compounded liquid metronidazole and that one shipped out fast. The most recent order was transdermal ondansetron and like I mentioned, it took quite a while. I didn’t know if they were just backed up/slow because of covid or what the deal was
