Has anyone used the 2021 Lantus or Basaglar discount card for your cat's insulin? If so, which pharmacy accepted it?

I know I will be changing Bandit's insulin when my vet sees him and I have used Lantus before.

I have, just used it about a week ago. $99 for vial of Lantus. Get to use it 10 times. Not sure where you are but CVS pharmacy accepted it here in Florida

Where do you get the discount card?

FYI, Walgreens has Semglee brand Glargine, and we paid $89 for it after joining their $30/year discount club (family membership required so you can put pets on it).

Thanks. Did the prescription have to be written for Semglee or Glargine?

It shouldn't matter. Glargine is the chemical name (think generic) and Semglee is a brand name.

It's the Lantus Savings Card but it doesn't work for everybody, not even from one CVS to another.

The other option is to buy it from Canada which is what a lot of us do. One of the nice things is that they don't require a new script every year like they do in the US.

Buying from Marks Marine is my other option if the prescription card does not work. I already called them to get the price.

I bought from Mark's Marine last year and will have to again soon. If they don't require a script, what happens? Do I just call and say I would like to purchase some more insulin? Thanks! (Not trying to hijack the thread!)

Yes, you need a valid script to purchase insulin from MM. Scripts will have the #of refills allowed and typically have a date (typically 1 year after date of initial script) for how low refills can be obtained w/o a new script.

Yes, or you can re-order online.

Only need a script for the first order. After that, Marks will refill as needed without another script

So even if it's a year later they'll do it?

Yes and if they tell you any different, ask to talk to Jordan. He's the pharmacy manager and I just talked to him on Wednesday about it.
