Hi! Welcome to LBL land :bighug: Good luck with the switch and sending some patience while the depot builds :cat: (I was never good at waiting :p)

Good morning Alex! Sorry your Chloe is experiencing such high BGs. Don't worry, she will start coming down once the depot builds up in a few days.

I noticed that you're feeding Fancy Feast shreds as you're transitioning from DM. Not all Fancy Feast are the same. The Shredded Medleys from Fancy Feast are what we could consider to be medium carb (10-15%), whereas we ideally like to feed sugar kitties foods below 10% carbs, preferably even less than 5%. Fancy Feast Classic Pates like chicken, beef, and turkey & giblets, are very popular around here as low carb options and have helped many a cat achieve remission. I'm sure you've seen the famous Dr. Pierson food chart, but here it is again in case you might want to research other options: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...m6PPfEUz9YmzMGMxkmcBk6uRR0/edit#gid=113878384

Of course, if you're struggling to get her to eat any wet food at all or they don't like the texture of pates, the shredded FF should do fine for now, but I'd try to mix in the pates in small amounts slowly into her current food so that she comes to recognize it as "food" until you're feeding 100% pate. Other low carb options for shredded bits is Weruva and Tiki Cats. My kitties love the Weruva Cats in the Kitchen canned foods (not the ones in pouches) and they're all below 10% carb. Tiki Cat After Dark foods are well liked around here as well, especially chicken and quail egg. :cat:

She’s getting the flaked chicken and tuna, flaked tuna, and flaked whitefish, all of which are <10 on the chart. I had it open while shopping :cat:. She’s never cared for pate and I know that gravy is not a good choice.

I just realized I have the wrong word in my signature. I’ll fix that!

Thank you for the good vibes! I am feeling so stressed and overwhelmed… and that was even before diabetes joined our family.

Welcome. Max as a young cat loved his dry food but would eat wet if sliced or cubed. Strangely enough after he became diabetic he accepted the pates as his bg came down and he was hungrier.
