My 17-year-old kitty Mitzi just started insulin for diabetes on Friday. Vet gave her first shot on Friday. I gave her one yesterday morning ta 6:30am. She seemed really energtic. I Fed her some cat treats late morning which she gobbled. soon after she started vomiting foamig white spit. she did this most of the day yesterday. She hasnt eaten since then. I tried to feed her this morning but she still wont eat. I gave her another insulin shot. (maybe I shouldnt have?) She drank a lot of water this morning and spit up again. She's lethargic and just stays near her water bowl. Its a holiday weekend and I cant call her vet until Tuesday. Should I take her to a 24 hour vet? I dont know if its the insulin, or if she upset her stomach with the cat treats. Any advice?

Can you tell me what type of insulin you are giving and how much? Are you home testing her blood sugars?

The big advantage of home testing is that it will tell you (and us) if Manny's numbers are way high or too low. Vomiting could be a sigh of either or totally unrelated. We strongly recommend that you home test. It is the only way you can keep your cat safe. Many people here (from the US) use the Walmart brand meter (Relion) and strips. You will also need lancets.

How often are. you feeding your cat and is this a change from how you were feeding prior to diagnosis? Are the treats you were using something new? And were they manufactured in the US? (There have been problems with pet food products manufactured in China.)
