Tunas dose has been bouncing all around the place after hitting the low greens a few times this week please check his spreadsheet if you're not sure what I'm talking about sorry I'm in a rush. His PMPS is 166 I was supposed to push 0.75U but I don't know if I should with that number please help @Bron and Sheba (GA) @FrostD are you awake?

I would definitely give a reduced dose, because it is under 200, and it is a lower preshot than Tuna is used to.
Maybe give 0.25 units and then go back to the previous dose tomorrow if the Preshot is high enough.

will do! what would i do without you :')

is this a normal sort of trend for newly DX'd kitties? i feel like tunas SS is always changing, i can barely hold onto a dose before having to change it

Tuna is actually doing really well. Many cats don’t see any green numbers for weeks or months.
It is normal to see a SS like Tuna’s in a newly diagnosed cat
His body has to get used to insulin which is a hormone, so the BGs will be all over the place for a while. And he’s a bit of a bouncy boy.
So give him a cuddle and tell him he’s a good fellow!

he really is such a good boy, i have 16 cats and if any of my other cats got this DX everything would be 10x harder. hes so chill he lets me paint his nails!

i just rechecked his bg one more time before i pushed the 0.25u, it went to 186
after food :/ this is so aggravating

I’m glad he is such a good boy for you.
I would get a +1 and a +2 just to see how he is going to start with. You don’t want any nasty surprises later in the cycle.....not that I think you will... but it is always good to get a +1 and +2 if you shoot a lower than normal number.

will get at least every 2 hours tonight, my anxiety wouldnt let me sleep anyways lol. ill push the 0.25u right now thank you so much again you are an angel

I did not get an alert for the tag, sorry! I have no idea why that happens sometimes. Looks like he's nice and steady blues which is great. I'm EST, so only on in the middle of the night if the baby or cat are keeping me up lol

I'm curious to see if he follows the same pattern and bounces later in this cycle.

Knowing my luck I'll get him back on the .75u and he'll find a way to go hypo on me! I haven't slept yet I had a crazy bout of digestive issues myself but even if I didn't, I feel this compulsion to check his bg no matter what. You have a baby and a sugar kitty?! That seems like so much responsibility I would probably crumble immediately!

I understand, you just want to keep him safe!

I actually have a 20 month old, a 3 month old, Mr Kitty, and a senior dog with her own set of issues. I don't get to sit down much that's for sure! The last two nights I was up hourly between all of them

Oh no! I thought I had it bad with a cat with pneumonia and a cat with diabetes. 2 sick cats out of 16 really isn't that bad now that you mention human children! My dog is a 15 year old leonberger, about 6 years past her breeds expiration date :joyful: 3 months old?!? You really must be a superhero. I'm 30 with 16 cats and absolutely no constitution to handle stress at ALL I think I'll need to borrow some of what you use:D

Those are beautiful dogs! And that's a lot of cats lol it's funny, I'm not actually a cat person, I got the cat to keep the dog company back when I was in school (apartment didn't allow two dogs). The shelter gave him to me for free along with a giant dog kennel and cat tree because they didn't think he'd ever get adopted. He was.....feisty.

And now here I am with the most expensive adoption ever lmao

@Bron and Sheba (GA) amps is 418, I should push o.5 to get back to 0.75 tonight?
She's in Australia I believe, may not be on.

Looks like he's following his pattern. I'd go ahead and do 0.75U, that's your "standard" dose. You don't have to "work your way" back up to a dose when you do a reduced dose like last night.

If pattern holds, he'll break this bounce pretty quickly, probably see a big drop around +3.
