Was thinking about you this morning! Wondering if you give Hercules B12. Glad you got some green!!!Green number vibe your way...![]()
I am giving it for neuropathy...nerve twitches and jerks. There is a cat version called zobaline, but I just open up a capsule of what we humans take and sprinkle some on each dish of food. It has really helped, maybe being more relaxed helps the blood sugar level out? You could ask the FDMB experts...What is the B12 for?
Thank you Katherine!Because of all of Ruby's various issues I've researched B12. A lot.B12 is used to cure neuropathy in diabetic cats who get wobbly and walk on their hocks. It's also touted as a cure for a lot of issues related to feline kidney disease. Low B12 levels are usually an indication of inflammation in the GI tract, so either IBD or small cell lymphoma. The human version is methylcobalamin and you can give 500 mcgs of it daily in food to help with everything from neuropathy to poor appetite in CKD kitties. Because it's a B vitamin it's safe to give because whatever isn't utilized by the body is excreted in urine. I don't give it to Ruby because her tests have shown high levels of it, so I don't want to oversupplement.
B12 also is beneficial for humans with anxiety. Tiger is very much a "scaredy cat". I think I see him gaining back a little of his mojo since starting the B12.And low B-12 is linked to dementia in humans! Get your B-12 people. Any time you are under stress, you use more of your B vitamins up at a faster rate and need to replenish them.
That is exactly what I just did Yay!He is on a lower dose now. Stick to LC. Give 6%.
Maybe so. Was also thinking meter variance...Just got online to see the +3. He is pretty carb sensitive!
Looks like the 6% was too much?
With that +112 @ +2, I was expecting green at +3Maybe so. Was also thinking meter variance...
I think that he will come back down...
Campa is having diarrhea. Poor baby.
She was just in the box again but I didn't see anything coming out. With that +112 @ +2, I was expecting green at +3
Let's move to lower carb for the rest of the cycle.
Poor Campa. Just loose stools or going frequently?
Yep it doesn't look like I will be getting my green fix tonight!Sorry I didn't see this on time. I think you can stick to 1% unless he drops and needs higher carbs.
And you can call it a night!![]()

Oops. I gave him a small amount of 1%.You needn't feed. Let him surf.
OOOps gave him a small bit of 1%.You needn't feed. Let him surf.
Ok! Good night! Now it is time to stop testing and feeding and to go to bed!
Good night!
I think Tiger may benefit from higher carbs (4-6%) earlier in the cycle (PS and +1) and lower thereafter. Try it and see.
