Tldr: after stalling my shots are off schedule-

I'm worried about the play time we need to get him back on his 3am and 3pm shots. I can't push the insulin my fiance does but he works late nights. He gets home at 3am and he leaves for work at 3pm. Luckily he randomly took today off! But tomorrow he leaves at 3:15 pm :/ tuna won't finish eating until 3:50 the earliest, that gives us an almost hour late shot. Can I push the shot 15 minutes up each time until I'm back on schedule or is 15 minutes too much?

Melissa's right! Sorry, didn't realize you skipped this morning, should have looked at your SS before responding. That link I posted is helpful for the future!
Oh no worries! I was working with her on another thread and she decided to skip after you posted here.

Tuna alert: he's 212 @ +6

Really wish he could have stayed in the blue. I was yelling at his pancreas through his belly this morning hoping to kick it into gear. What dose should I come back to tonight? I think we agreed on .75 since he was at 1u? My brain is all scrambled eggs

If only pancreases had ears....

It really depends which dosing method you choose (SLGS vs MPM, they're covered in the dosing sticky in the ProZinc forum).

Basically with SLGS you hold the dose for a week, do a curve, then increase if needed. And reduce if the BG ever goes below 90. Advantage here is it's more "comfortable" for the caregiver, downside is it can take longer to get regulated, and may be difficult to get into remission.

With MPM you can increase every 3-5 days if numbers aren't going low enough, and you reduce below 50. BUT this means you have to test at minimum around +3, +6, and +9 along with the PS to make sure they don't go too low. Advantage is you can quickly adjust dosage and hopefully get regulated faster, and possibly remission. Disadvantage is it can be stressful and involves a lot of testing.

Since I'm sure you're overwhelmed - I'd start with SLGS until you get the hang of things, and make the next dose 0.75U.

Judging by how much testing I have on my spreadsheet do you think I'm already testing enough for mpm? Or is it just too advanced for me right now. To be clear I have a panic disorder. My health anxiety puts me into nightly panic attacks. If there's a better chance at remission using mpm I'll take that route asap.

Yes, you test plenty!

And I'm sorry to hear that :( With that in mind, some food for thought:

To get into remission generally requires the BGs to be maintained under 100. 60-120 is kind of the ideal range, but most remissions are under 100 pretty consistently.

You're at a low dose and he was recently diagnosed, both of which are in your favor. Generally the faster you can get ahold of things the better your chances.

You may spend many nights like last night while trying to get him into remission, with no guarantee. I'm not sure if that's worse for your health or not.

i understand its not a guarantee, but i want to try my absolute best for him. if at the end of the day i can say i did everything in my power to try and make this happen then i will be a little less sad. hopefully 0.75 is perfect
the dose!!!!

Another interesting update, Tuna "should" be bouncing right now after his hypo and skipped shot right? on 0.75u hes hit 99 @+4 when his amps was 389. thats a bit weird right? the last time he was +4 99bg he went hypo so of course im going to monitor him like crazy but i feel like this is really weird. I'm going to make a new thread since I'm updating with a new topic in this thread
