05/26 Scout, Libre stopped working, home testing still unsuccessful

(sorry, I can't help myself but it's late and been a long day so bad puns cannot be denied)...stick with it.

I don't remember if we've already had this discussion, but where are you in Seattle??

I know you are warming the ear. Are you milking the ear?
Also what size lancets are you using? Size 26 or 28 are the best ones to start with as they are bigger.

You could you try doing two quick pricks one after the other close together so between the pair you might get enough blood.

I've tried warming the ear in different ways, e.g., massaging it, microwaving a sock filled with rice and holding it to his ear, holding a small jar of warm water to his ear. I might not be taking enough time with the warming. I'm using lancets that are size 30 because a friend gave me some of hers. I'll try the double prick idea.

It would be worth while getting the size 26 gauge lancets and keeping the 30s for later. It makes a big difference. And they are not expensive.

Bad puns appreciated! I live in West Seattle.
I'm in lower Queen Anne. I had my 2nd vaccine last week so I'm a week away from being 'safe', but if you haven't figured it by then I'd be happy to come and poke Scout's ear with you. Not that I'm an expert by any means but I'm a couple of months ahead of you :)

The Walmart up in Lynnwood (Mill Creek) seems to have the best selection but I've also been to Factoria. They're the cheapest for lancets and ketone strips by a long shot.
