I just was laying in bed ruckus took a noodle right off my plate in front of me. Jump on my chest took right off very crazy like. Almost seemed feral, he’s never done that before in that extreme of a manner. I thought this is very odd, So I gave me a test and he’s at 8.8. This is one of the lowest numbers he’s had in a long time. I know it’s not hypo but he look drugged up like high. Idk if I should stay up and keep testing. I gave him some cooked tuna as a snack. He also ate a flour noodle is he going to go into dka?

8.8 is a very safe number. It's above the normal range for a cat's blood sugar. Since you are on Levemir and it has a late nadir, you could try to get one more test around +7/+8.

Does he have a history of ketones or DKA?

Yeah good idea, I will set a alarm. He almost bite me he’s never been like that and jump hard on my chest and scratched. Was extremely odd and weird. The only time he went into dka is when I found out he was diabetic at the emergency night clinic. I did do some Keytone tests before, I wrote them in comments. I think I have two of them left, they test his blood type.

Could you add the DKA to your signature please? Thanks :-)

Has he been eating and drinking normally? Everything else okay till now?

What do you mean add to my signature? Like say when was diagnosed for diabetes with dka?

He just seems very hungry like crazy searching the carpet currently. He eating and drinking yes but he’s not big on drinking water so I add it to his food.

Just add DKA and the date like you have added the Pancreatitis.

My diabetic becomes very active at night when she is in good numbers. If he is hungry, feed him a little more.

If Ruchus is really hungry let him eat some more food.
I would also try and get a test of the urine with the Ketostix to check for ketones. He is not showing symptoms of DKA but it would be good to rule out ketones being an issue.
Do you normally feed him during the cycle as well as the preshot meal?
I would definitely get another test in as @Bandit's Mom suggested to see he’s not going to drop low.

I try to give him 3 to 4 meals a day if I can but at least breakfast, lunch, dinner. My boyfriend did lunch at 5:00 pm today because I was out town, I usually do it sooner.

I never used the pee kind of test. I just have the freestyle blood ones but the cost $ 44.00 dollars for 10. I have only two left of those. How would I do the pee test if I have 4 cats?

Ok fed him, he seems tired now. He’s actually snoring.

That's great! Phew.

He looks like he needs more insulin but without night tests we don't know how low he is going - many cats go lower at night.
Are you following TR or SLGS?

Neither I’m actually very scared to increase. I got advice on a old cat group because my bad vet wanted me to go up whole units and it didn’t seem right and they didn’t agree with at home testing either. I tired to read it on here but I didn’t fully understand it. Also my helper from diabetic cats in need helps me with increases but before then and joining that group I didn’t even know to home test. Once I started I was writing it in a notebook. So this charts and stuff something I’ve never done in my life. I also still extremely confused how he was on 1 unit of insulin and able to go into remission but now is on 7. I kinda feel like I’m over dosing him or giving to much. But this diabetes seems to be extremely confusing to understand. I thought he was doing better but now he’s giving me pink numbers again. It’s very disheartening to think nothing works.

I don’t know what group you are getting advice from but I see you did a reset of the insulin in December which rarely works and only makes it harder to get on top of things.
I would recommend you choose a dosing method and start posting daily on the Lantus forum for assistance to see if we can help you. I would suggest TR method. Here are the dosing methods

I’m not using that group anymore because of that reset that made ruckus have to have another emergency visit, then they asked me to do it again which I was blown away with. So I was not very happy, I was suggested this group from a member and diabetic cats in need. Wendy on this forum helped me with some dosing. I’ll read that link you sent me, so I’m supposed to post everyday on here?

You are not the first person to come here after a reset that put the kitty back in terms of progress, or in hospital.
I think post each day we will be able to help you.
You start a new post each day with the date, name is kitty and AMPS and any questions. So you would say 5/26 Ruchus AMPS xxx new, dosing advice.
That will tell us all you are new here and need help.
Ask any questions you need. We are happy to help

Yeah was very unfortunate, I’ve had terrible luck so far but I’m here now. I’m lucky to have this forum and diabetic cats in need. So he’s at 16.4 now so essentially doubled... ahh I don’t understand this cat. Ok I’m going try and sleep.
